Interesting Facts• Bolivia declared its independence from Spain on
August 6th 1825.• Population is estimated 10,907,778.• Common Ethnic groups are Amerindian
Quechua, Aymara.
Government Structure• Bolivia is a socialist government• It’s president is Evo Morales
Economics • the currency of Bolivia is known as the Boliviano
(BOB).

Tourist Attractions• Potosí - The World's Highest City• La Paz, The second highest city in the world.• The Ancient Ruins of Tiahuanaco (Tiwanaku)

Customs• Most Bolivians are born into Roman Catholicism.• The handshake is the most common form of
greeting.• Eye contact is important. • Gifts are usually given at birthdays, Christmas
and New Year.The general rule is by good quality but price is not too important.
Languages• The most common language in Bolivia is Spanish.• Some common phrases being Hola (hello), Cómo
estás? (how are you?), and amigo (friend).
Education• The schools are not maintained, and many don’t
