  • RESULTS OF MSD SURVEY

    • 60% SUFFERED MSD,

    • 70% STILL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS,

    • 60% ARE A RESULT FROM WEAR AND TEAR,

    • 50% RESULTED IN LOST TIME INJURY.

    According to the survey results, the members feel that the following issues prohibit change within the industry:• COST,• DESIGN

    DEFICIENCIES,• TIME RESTRAINTS.

  • KNEES

    Boilermakers suffer knee injuries, due to repetitive kneeling, climbing, and positioning within confined spaces.

  • WRISTS

    Boilermakers are prone to wrist injuries, due to repetitive motion, and the use of heavy tools, over a prolonged period. Additionally, vibration from pneumatic tools creates issues for wrists and fingers.

  • BACK

    Boilermakers frequently experience back injuries, from mild cases to extreme ones, due to climbing through tight spaces that are not ergonomically friendly. Heavy equipment compounds issues; as does working overhead.
