The use of special measuring bottles with a septum sealed nozzle allows the interference-free addition of substrates and solutions. Pressure alterations could indicate a reduction in oxygen concentration, for example, which could make the addition of oxygen or air necessary (possibly other gases as well). It is possible to set a “warning pres-sure” or a pressure limit so that the operator can carry out manipulations on the system. The momentary pressure can be stored so that the manipulation is fully documented. The recording of measured values (max. 10 values) permits longterm measurement.

The determination of the biodegradability should be checked before “new” chemicals are used for the first time, not only for environmental reasons but also to minimize disposal charges. The sample and a blank are stirred at a constant temperature for 28 days in closed bottles. The CO2 produced is removed from the gas space by means of an absorber so that the resulting negative pressure is a measure of the biode-gradability. The continuous recording of the values in the OxiTop®-C means that the required documenta-tion can be guaranteed in an optimal manner. The measuring bottles and adapters can be autoclaved at 249.8 °F (121 °C).

Use for Colorimetric and Turbidimetric. Determinations Including: Color, Concentration, Haze and Density Measurements and Microbiology Growth Curves.

These photometric colorimeters use specific light filters to give readings on a unique KlettTM scale. The readings are directly proportional to the concentration or optical density of a solution, in accordance with Beers Law. Two matched photocells and a suspension galvanometer give the instrument a broad range of measurement making it light and ambient temperature independent. A fully compensated and carefully balanced electrical circuit provides accuracy and consistency in readings while using simple and rugged equipment. The precision galvanometer has an illuminated logarithmic scale, graduated from 1 to 1000 Klett and the scale is graduated in units proportional to the optical density. Repeatability is ±.33% of the full scale. Two units are available.

The Industrial Model accepts rectangular solution cells, which can be used in either of two directions. Measurements can then be taken at depths of 10mm, 20mm, or 40mm. A reduction plate is available to minimize solution depth to 2.5mm. An adapter is available which permits the use of test tubes. The Clinical Model uses standard 14.25 x 125mm test tubes. Calibrated or uncalibrated tubes are available. In addition, micro test tubes can be used for samples as small as 2.5 ml. Both models are supplied with the two most commonly used filters, blue for 400-450nm and green for 520-580nm. Additional filters are available to permit measurements over the complete visual range. Each unit has detailed instructions, standards and guides for a wide range of tests.

2597403 Flow Probe 5’-15’ Swivel Head each

Ideal for measuring flows in streams, rivers, canals, stormwater, wastewater, inflow and infiltration studies, and industrial process waters. These are highly accurate water velocity instruments for measuring flows in open channels and partially filled pipes. The water velocity probe consists of a protected water turbo prop positive displacement sensor coupled with an expandable probe handle ending in a digital readout display. The water flow meter incorporates true velocity averaging for the most accurate flow measurements. The Flow Probe is ideal for storm water runoff studies, sewer flow measurements, measuring flows in rivers and streams, and monitoring water velocity in ditches and canals.

The Flow Probe incorporates the unique Turbo-Prop propeller sensor, which uses the most accurate positive displacement technique available for velocity sensing. The Turbo-Prop is designed to shed debris and is protected inside a 2” diameter housing. The probe housing may be placed directly on the bottom of a pipe or streambed for measuring low flows down to 2” in depth. The Turbo-Prop is easily removed for cleaning or replacement.

The water velocity computer receives an electrical signal from the propeller, ampli-fies the signal, and converts the reading to feet per second (or meters per second, depending on programming). The large LCD screen displays average, minimum, and maximum water velocity readings. Up to 30 sets of minimum, maximum, and

average data readings can be stored in the water velocity computer. These data points can be reviewed on the computer screen for later analysis. The water velocity computer has a water-resistant housing and incorporates a unique four-button operation for changing functions and resetting the display. The water velocity computer is powered by a non-replaceable bat-tery that will last approximately five years with normal use. Low battery warnings will also display as appropriate.

The Flow Probe handle can telescope from 3.7 feet to 6 feet in length (2597400 & 2597401) or 5.5 feet to 15 feet (2597402 & 2597403). The handle is constructed of anodized aluminum for light weight and long life. The 15 foot length of the 2597402 & 2597403, Flow Probe, allows for measuring sewer flows from street level and measuring stream flows from low bridges. The Flow Probe can be used to measure the true average water velocity of a channel’s flow. As long as the turbo-prop sensor is in the water flow, the computer will average the water velocity. One reading is taken per second, and a continuous average water velocity is displayed. CE Approved

Optional Swivel HeadThe Flow Probe Swivel Head option allows you to rotate the flow probe’s turbo prop to + 90 degrees from it’s standard posi-tion. This option lets the flow probe take water velocity measurements in hard to measure areas such as vertical pipes on water tanks or swimming pool drainage systems.

Hand held, portable instrument for measuring “Accurate” open stream veloci-ties in feet or meters per second. It utilizes Photo-Fiber-Optic sensor coupled with precision quartz crystal controlled electronics to provide accurate repeatable data in most flow conditions.

Available in two models: model 2100 and model 3000. Both models feature weatherproof construction, digital display, self-calibration and a measure-ment range of 0.1 to 25 feet per second. Accuracy for both models is ±1% of reading. The Model 2100 features a digital display with maximum/minimum velocity, three preset averaging times of 5, 20, and 90 seconds and a start/stop button for interval testing. Uses one 9V battery, included. The upgraded Model 3000 is a computer/datalogger version of the Model 2100, allowing on-site computation of stream discharges. Model 3000 records depths, width, velocities and angles along with time and date of measurements. It figures the “Q” and can upload all information in spreadsheet-acceptable format to your PC via RS232. Simple file transfer software and a DB9 serial connection cable are provided. Choose from 1 to 999 seconds of averaging. Velocities can be a single averaged measurement or the accumulated aver-age of as many measurements as desired. As many as 1,000 “stations” in 1 to 100 stream cross-sections can be acquired and stored in memory. Use the convenient keypad to input angles of velocity other than perpendicular to the stream cross-section. Simple, accurate calibration is possible in the field. Two-line, 16-character LCD prompts user through all operations.

There are three types of Wands: Telescopic Wand (designed where taking flow measurements requires a long reach from the user such as in sewers, plant outfalls, canals, etc), Top Set Wading Rod (designed to be used while wading in streams and waterways. Use the rods to measure the stream depth then automatically place the sensor at 6/10 of the depth from the stream surface, the best place to determine the average velocity of a water column in relatively shallow water), Combination Wading Rod (designed to be very stable in faster/deeper flows such as measuring from bridges, boats, etc).

2247300 Water Level Sounder 500 FT each

2247301 Water Level Sounder 100 FT each

2247302 Water Level Sounder 50 FT each

• Precision measurement, simplicity, and durability • Detect water levels and well bottoms with high precision • Trouble-free operation in wells with falling water and heavy oil slicks, even if well is not cased • Polycarbonate sturdy reel • Durable polyester powder-coated steel frame • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel fittings • Large, ergonomic brake and soft grip vinyl winding handle • Water and dust-proof encapsulated electronics • Strong and accurate NTS certified tape with stainless conductors • Full depth stainless steel and Teflon probe • Long lasting flexible link between the tape and probe • Tape marked in 1 foot and 0.01 foot intervals • Audio alert beeper and LED indicate contact with the water

The Well Level Sounder sets a new precision standard for well water level measurement. The Water Level Sounder meets or exceeds federal specification US GGG-T-106E (USA) or EEC CLASS II (Europe) for a guaranteed accuracy of 0.008%. The Water Level Sounder uses a full depth-rated stainless steel and teflon probe that is 5/8-inch (16 mm) in diameter. The water level sounder’s sensor electronics are encapsulated in a water and dust proof housing. The water level sounder’s electronics module can be removed so that the entire reel and tape can be cleaned and decontaminated. The flat spring steel core ensures that the level sounder will hang perfectly straight in large and small diameter wells. This provides unparalleled accuracy when compared to the flat white tapes, where kinks in the tape introduce slight errors, in addition to the displacement of water changing the static level.

The water level sounder uses a shrouded probe with a unique design to prevent bridging and detect the bottom of the well. Bridging is often encountered during pump tests with similar water level sounders. All Well Level Sounders carry a sensitivity adjustment for different water quali-ties. This sensitivity control prevents false readings in wells containing very pure water or very conductive water and is ideal for pump and draw down tests. When the water level sounder’s probe assembly makes contact with the surface of the water, a bright LED glows and a beeper sounds on the reel. The water level sounder detects the bottom of the well using a specially engineered tip that causes the sounder’s audio alarm to cease when the bottom of the well is reached.

The well level sounder consists of a strong NTS-certified polyethylene jacketed measuring tape that will accurately read to 0.01 foot or 1 mm. The tape reels are built of resistant polycarbonate (or, for units with over 400 ft cable, of lighter aluminum). Our clients almost universally prefer aluminum reels for the improved durability, ease of cranking, and better ergonomics. Most plastic reels have much smaller hubs and that makes cranking much tougher. All load bearing compo-nents on the well level sounders are made of aluminum.

The depth sounder is battery operated, thus there is no danger of shock from an outside power supply. Two conductors make a separate ground connection unnecessary, so the instrument will function equally well in uncased test holes or in uncased wells in rock. Water entering the well from casing leaks or perforations about the water level will not affect the depth gauge’s measure-ments.
