From the Principal Dear Parents and Community, It’s hard to believe we are in week six already! This term is flying by with lots of fun things happening in our little school! We had a great Life Education Day at Elands last Friday. Many thanks to Elands staff and students for welcoming us and also to the wonderful P&C ladies who cooked a delicious lunch for us all. It was a lovely relaxing day up on the mountain. Congratulations to our senior students who attended the Youth Leadership Conference in Sydney this week. We look forward to hearing all about your adventures in the big smoke! And congratulations to our P6 relay swimmers who represented Bobin School at the Regional Swimming Carnival held in Newcastle yesterday. We are very excited to welcome local music teacher Heather McLaughlin who will be coming in each Wednesday for the rest of term one, to run glockenspiel and marimba workshops with our students. Next Wednesday after recess Clare Rourke will be visiting the school to talk about the fantastic work of the Manning River Turtle Conservation Group. Clare will be bringing a Manning River Turtle to show us, so that we can identify and help protect them in our local creeks. Next Thursday March 12, the smalls schools Cross Country Carnival will be held at Mitchell’s Island School. Students from Year 3 to Year 6 who would like to participate are welcome to attend. A note with further details about this event will be sent home shortly. Please don't hesitate to call the school on 65505147 with any queries. Kind regards, Sarah Parker Relieving Principal

What is NetSetGO?

NetSetGO is the only introductory netball program in Australia. It has been developed by Netball Australia to give young children the fundamental motor skills and netball skills they need to be able to enter competition netball with confidence.

NetSetGO is a tiered program:

• Net is recommended for children aged 5 – 6 years. It encourages fun and friendship through netball related dance, games and activities.

• Set is for children aged 7-8 years. It sets up the next generation of netballers with netball skills, teamwork and enthusiasm to take their game to the next level.

• GO is the final tier of the program where the children participate in modified competition to ready them for junior netball and encourage them to become a lifelong fan.

The age ranges in the tiers are only a guide. Players who have completed both the Net and the Set tier and have gained the appropriate skills are ready to progress to the GO tier.

Manning Valley Netball Association is looking for any boys or girls interested in our NetSetGo programs, in particular the Net program, we are hosting a ‘Come Try Net’ Day on Saturday 28th March 2020 from 9:00am. Net Season commences on 2nd May @ 8am at the Taree Recreation Centre Netball Courts. If there are any students or parents who are interested in coming along to either the try out day or signing up to play, please contact [email protected] or look us up on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/tareenetball/
