ITEC INNOVATE CLINCHES PLATINUM GREEN DEALER OF 2012 AWARD

Cape Town-based Itec Innovate has been

named as the impactChoice Platinum Green

Dealer of 2012 for the investment and effort

it has made towards promoting environmen-

tal responsibility in its own business as well

as towards selling greener solutions into its

client base. Itec is the first office automation

solutions provider in South Africa to offer sus-

tainability solutions as a value added service

to clients.

Across the six months of the competition,

773,000kg of carbon credits were distributed

to and on behalf of competing dealers and

retired through the PlanVivo/CCBS registered

Sofala Community Carbon Project.

Not only has Itec Innovate successfully

persuaded many of its clients to embrace

greener technology with impactChoice, but

Directors, Mark McChlery, Bob Skinstad and

Darryl Fredericks commissioned a full baseline

greenhouse gas/carbon footprint audit of Itec

Innovate in order to identify areas for improved

environmental efficiency. Says McChlery: “We

have bought wholeheartedly into Itec Group’s

efforts to help clients measure and mitigate

their carbon footprint as well as to encourage

dealers like us to become more environmentally

sustainable. Carbon offsetting is today a critical

part of a sound office automation business

solution. As we have approached our clients

that the market has embraced the importance

of triple bottom line reporting. Itec and its

clients will be well prepared if and when carbon

taxes are introduced in South Africa.’’

THE JAMBOYSChanging lives since 06!The Jam Boys have recently returned from the

PE Tens where they displayed great form on

the field taking their ‘A Game’ all the way to

the Finals where they were narrowly defeated

by the ever strong (and ever young) Nadoes

Team. A great contest held in the friendly

city of Port Elizabeth.

While they proved themselves on the field,

the greatest conquests were, no doubt, made

off the field and in true Jam Boy fashion!

Inspired by George Best, the team’s motto

was Ero Curious Non Mortis ( We might die

young but we won’t die curious ) ensured that

they maximised the Jam Boy creed of honour

to its very best! Watershed moments indeed!

Not one for Marmalade, there will be a

reunion of the Jam Boys at the Cape Town

Tens (Feb 1st & 2nd) and later they will be

feeling the Jam at the Bangkok Tens (Feb

15th, 16th & 17th Feb)…catch them if you can!

which is a firm favourite on the Cape Town sporting

and social calendar and one that draws rugby teams

from around the world for this first class event.

With a huge heart for social upliftment, Bob has

been an innovator with a number of projects

including the Bobs for Good Foundation, now

better known as the Put Foot Foundation, provid-

ing shoes to thousands of needy young school

children and he hopes to soon be providing their

schools with the technology that is so desperate-

ly needed in these environments.

Bob is a respected business owner and entre-

preneur and has enjoyed numerous business

interests over the years. He forms an important

part of the broadcast team at Super Sport where

he commentates and engages with his audience in

an informed and knowledgeable manner. He is in

great demand as a regular key note speaker and

celebrity guest at corporate functions.
