• Eligibility Requirements
– Open to U.S. citizens
– Open to foreign nationals who . . .
• Are eligible for a J-1 visa as a Research Scholar or
• Are lawful permanent residents (LPR) or
• Hold an Employment Authorization Document, pending LPR status
– Must have completed the requirements for the Ph.D.
• Eligibility Requirements

• Awards are based on NASA's research priorities, quality of applications, and availability of funding
• One year appointments, renewable for up to three years, contingent on available funding
• Annual stipends start at $50,000
• Stipend supplements for high cost of living areas and degree specialties for qualified ARMD and ESMD Fellows
• Relocation allowance ($15k max)
• Travel budget of $8,000 per appointment year
• Fellows must have health insurance, which is available through the program
• ~ 85 fellowships are awarded annually
