Lost Man Creek TrailA scenic, 11 mile hike and bike trail takes you through redwood forest. Combine with Bald Hills Rd. and Hwy 101 for a 20 mile loop.

Humboldt Redwoods MUTOver 75 miles of Multi-Use Trail are open to mountain bikes, including Look Prairie Trail, Pole Line Rd, Fox Camp Trail, Kemp Trail & Perimeter Rd.

Ferndale FarmlandsThe Eel River Valley around the Victorian Village of Ferndale is crisscrossed by country lanes through farms and fields. Cross the river at Fernbridge and explore.

CANOEING Stone LagoonReed beds, ospreys, cormorant rookeries, beaches and coves, this lagoon is a paddler’s paradise. There’s camping and a boat ramp.

OCEAN KAYAKING Trinidad BaySheltered launch at Trinidad Pier gives access to scattered offshore rocks and coves with unsurpassed fishing and wildlife viewing.

RIVER RAFTING Trinity RiverDepending on the time of year it’s Class II to V through The Slot, Hell Hole and Pearly Gates; outfitters are based in Willow Creek.

TOURING KAYAK Humboldt BayMiles of shoreline, teeming wildlife, islands, history and views make this bay a winner (along with numerous convenient put-ins).

MOUNTAIN BIKING Arcata Community ForestThis 790-acre forest is crisscrossed by trails following old logging skid roads. Hilly and steep with challenging rides for all skill levels.

FAMILY BIKE RIDE Hammond TrailAccess points from Mad River bridge to Clam Beach County Park. Level paved trail with ocean and wooded views; Hiller Park is the half-way point.
