Brief & Concept

Brief

Design a visual identity and range of promotional materials, for the museum Type Factory. The material produced should engage and capture the experience that the visitor will have.

Background/Considerations

The Type Factory is a whole new concept, so there is scope to be creative. But also to be careful not to alienate people this has to appeal to a wide audience from professional designers to children.

Your content should demonstrate an understanding of design for print and web, which includes but is not restricted to font selection, colour selection, layouts, usability, content/ content management and designing for your audience.Your finished product should show an understanding of the role of a graphic designer in design for cros media deliery delivery, as well as demonstrating indus-try standard requirements.

Mandatories/Deliverables

Print materials produced should include:- Booklet used to promote the venue (inc treatments cover, venue information page, and at least 3 spreads) - Full brand identity (inc business cards and other relevant stationary)- Staff uniforms

This could, but it not mandatory, include an interior design for the museum, includ-ing wayfinding systems.Screen based materials produced should include:- A website, with at least 4 pages (inc appropriate information, examples of promo events, and merchandise)This could, but is not mandatory, include an app for the museum. Target MarketDesigners and tourists

Branding

I’m going to create all the branding for the museum. These are some of the examples i have been looking at. They show differ-ent approaches to how to brand and what you can create with the use of consistent branding.

I want to use these as inspiration and ideas as to what i can do for the branding of Type Factory.

Web Design

I’m going to also create the website for the museum. This has to really suit the type of user that is going to look at the site. The main audience of the musuem is fellow designers and tourists. So because of this the design has to be good, but also easy to use across a broad range of people.

Publication

The publication is one of the most important mandatories, it is the piece that the target audience will recieve that promotes the museum to them, it must promote the main points of interest to the museum in a creative and sound typographic way.
