I attended the Nicaraguan Provincial Synod held in Waspam on the Rio Coco, January 21 – 27. It was especially exciting to hear about the educational ministries of the church (Universities in Bilwi and Bluefields, High Schools and elementary schools), the work of the Women’s Ministry, community projects being carried out by ADSIM (the development and social arm of the church) and the outreach and extension work of the church in the interior region of the country. Sister Cora Antonio was elected to lead the province again, after having served from 2007 – 2009. She is joined by board members who represent the various regions of the country as well as the ethnic groups that

make up the province (Miskitu, Creole, Mayangna, Rama and Hispanic). Please keep the new leadership in prayer. Sam Gray As of January 31, 2013, the Annie B Mission has raised over $20,000 dollars for the speech therapist program at Star Mountain. As most know, a speech therapist was hired in the spring but ended up resigning to continue her education, working toward her master’s degree. Having trouble finding a qualified candidate, the Star Mountain staff has worked out a program with the Red Crescent Society of Palestine. The society provided training for the entire staff during December 2012 and is sending a staff person monthly to check on Star Mountain’s progress. This is very exciting news having the whole staff trained. Star Mountain has recently interviewed a speech therapist who might be able work part-time. This position would be provided for by the Annie B Mission. At this time I would like to thank all of our friends and family for their support. God Bless! As with most new sites, we are encountering some glitches, so don’t be surprised if not everything is running smoothly. Hopefully over the next few weeks our webmaster will have the structure adjusted and errors corrected. What is exciting is that now we can easily keep our site current with BWM work with our global partners, our Antioch program, our volunteer resources, new work initiatives and Likewise ministries. We also hope to have blogs from some of our cross-cultural servants who are in ministry throughout the world so that you can hear their stories. We will be updating our photo gallery and videos. Eventually we hope to have the capability of receiving donations on line for the specific programs that you support. Let us know if there are other features that would help you connect more with the BWM and your own call to mission.

In addition to the concerns raised in this newsletter, we lift of our brothers and sisters throughout the world in prayer:

For Safie Braima in Sierra Leone for healing of her foot and for approval by the government for their high school
