Attest:

{ (^Secretary I Bowling Green, Ohio December 9, 1941

The Board of Trustees of the Bowling Green State University met at twelve o'clock at Kohl Hall for a luncheon meeting. The members present were Mr. E. E. Coriell, President; Dr. H. J. Johnston, Secretary; Minor Kershner, Treasurer; and J. J. Urschel. Mr. Dudley White was unable to be present. President Prout was also in attendance.

The minutes of the meeting held on October 25, 1941 were approved.

The President presented the problem of use of the new hospital by persons other than students on the campus. Dr. Johnston moved that the facilities of the hospital be made available to the families of the faculty and the Board of Trustees at a discount of one-third of the regular Toledo Hospital rates. The terms of said rates to rest with Dr. Brown. Mr. Kershner seconded the motion. Voting yes: Coriell, Johnston, Kershner, Urschel. Motion carried.

The President recommended that the $1.75 rate on dormitory rooms be changed to $2.00, excepting in the case of the penthouse in Williams Hall and the annex in Shatzel Hall where the rates are to remain at $1,75. This is to be effective for September, 1942. Mr. Urschel moved that this recommendation be approved. Dr. Johnston seconded the motion. Voting yes: Coriell, Johnston, ftershner, Urschel. Motion carried.

The President then notified the Board of the change of the Housing Bureau to the Office of the Dean of Students. Mr. Urschel moved that*this be approved. Mr. Kershner seconded. Voting yes: Coriell, Johnston, Kershner, Urschel. Motion carried.

The President brought up for discussion the question of refurnishing the old dormitories with new beds. He reminded the Board that at a previous time they had authorized that new beds be purchased for Shatzel and Williams Halls as soon as funds were available. Acting upon that instruction, the President notified the Board that a contract had been made with the Ohio State Reformatory for approximately 150 beds of the same type as furnished in the new dormitories. He wondered if in view of the war emergencies the Board would wish to cintinue with this program and incur this expenditure. After consider- able discussion Mr. Urschel moved that the previous action be rescinded. Mr. Kershner seconded the motion. Voting yes: Urschel, Kershner; No: Johnston, Coriell. The motion was declared lost by the President.
