To whom it may concern,

As a parent of a high school student in CCSD, it is my strong view that Jesus Jara’s contract should NOT be renewed. His actions (or inactions as may be the case) and his failure to lead the county school district to be prepared to minimizethe disruption to our children’s education and mental well-being as it relates to in person schooling and extra-curricularactivities over the last 24 months have conclusively demonstrated that he is not competent and is ill suited to continue tolead the school district moving forward.

Please do NOT renew his contract.

Thank you, Francis Sideco

I am writing to state my opinion that the contract of Jesus Jara should not be renewed. Schools should’ve been open andsports should’ve been allowed as well without testing or masks etc.

ThanksErin Kelly

Public Comment for CCSD School Board Meeting on May 13, 2021 Item 5.01 1 message

Autumn Tampa for the May 13, 2021 CCSD Board Meeng

Agenda Item 5.01 - Superintendent Employment Agreement.

As I look back at Superintendent Jara's me at CCSD, I have to be honest. I felt very posive at the start ofthis Pandemic. It seemed that Superintendent Jara was working to keep EVERYONE SAFE. It seemed that hewas showing respect to both Teachers and Educaon Support Professionals.

Then the polical climate shied. It was as if a switch was flipped, and Superintendent Jara became adifferent man. I believe that this change was facilitated by polics, and demanded by Governor Sisolakthrough direcves from Superintendent Ebert.

I am concerned with the way that the COVID19 tracing and tesng has been handled...Instead of providinga free and safe tesng avenue for those who are concerned or have symptoms, a MANDATORY randomtesng protocol was implemented, with the threat of unpaid suspension. This created fear, confusion, and amore stressful working environment than already existed. The addional demands and direcves in analready horrific Pandemic, made the culture and climate much worse at CCSD.

If Superintendent Jara is to have his contract renewed, BETTER ways of treang employees than usingthreats need to be part of his Plan. More respect for ALL employees, and real opportunies for ProfessionalAdvancement for Educaon Support Professionals.

Adequate Training for Administrators and Principals on RESPECTFUL and POSITIVE communicaon; and,POSITIVE ways of handling issues, concerns and discipline with ALL employees; especially Educaon SupportProfessionals.

Respecully,

Autumn Tampa

Board of School Trustees

Clark County School District

5100 West Sahara Ave.

Las Vegas, NV 89146

702-799-CCSD

Dear Board of School Trustees,

LVABSE is committed to advocacy and speaking truth to power. These numbers are alarming!

As we continue to keep the community informed of these horrific numbers and educational

equity issues, the questions keep coming. It goes something like this: Well, who is in charge? Do

they know these numbers? What are they doing about this? Who is allowing this? Has LVABSE

met with them?

Now that our community is getting #woke, we are in this for the long haul. We need an

improvement plan that ensures a complete review of the principal pipeline and hiring practices.

Effective leadership matters. Strong leaders are the key to improving student success in schools.

Strong leaders are also influential in determining whether effective teachers and other personnel

stay in their schools.

Since we have not seen any real substantive change yet, our position remains the same. Please do

not renew Superintendent Jara’s contract.

In Truth and Service,

Kamilah Bywaters

President, Kamilah Bywaters, M.Ed. M.Div.

To Whom This May Concern,

I am writing this in concern to the renewal of Mr. Jara’s contract. Mr. Jara has not onlymade decisions that have caused a disservice to our children in CCSD he has made life altering choices that will affectthese children not only in the immediate future but in some cases the rest of their lives. I am a parent to a high schoolJunior and a Sixth grader and both have struggled tremendously with the decisions made by Mr. Jara. I myself am aproduct of CCSD and have experienced the struggles of our school district first hand but the choices Jara has made forthis generation of students is that of someone not adequate for the job he assigned or that of someone who has nocompassion for children. Either way he is not a good fit for the position he holds and should be relieved of his dutiesimmediately and NOT renewed to destroy the lives of our children any longer. Thank you for you time.

Jesus Jara Contract Renewal 1 message

Isaac Gornichec Thu, May 13, 2021 at 11:50 AMTo: [email protected]

To Whom It May Concern,As a parent of multiple children attending Clark County schools it is my strong view that Jesus Jara's contract should NOTbe renewed. His actions and his failure to lead the county school district to be prepared to minimize the disruption to ourchildren's education and mental well-being is evident. In addition his inability to communicate and lead a return to inperson schooling and extracurricular activities over the last 12 months have conclusively demonstrated that he is notcompetent and is ill suited to lead the school district moving forward. As a taxpayer and home owner for 17 years in ClarkCounty I will NOT support anyone who employs this man. I will remove any donations to Smalley, Mannion, and Foothill,as well as, look to promote charter school attendance and home schooling. We may even choose to leave this state.

To whom it may concern,

As a parent of four children who have gone through the CCSD school system with my youngest currently in the system asa senior, I strongly object to Jesus Jara's contract being renewed. His handling of this past year's pandemic was adisaster, to say the least. While other school districts across the country found a way to fill the education needs of ourchildren and allowing them to have extra curricular activities safely, our district completely failed our children. Ourchildren's mental health was not considered when making decisions. He is not competent in leading our school district.Parents are pulling their kids out of CCSD at record numbers because the district is failing them. We have one of thelargest school districts in the country and it is crucial to find someone competent for the job. Jesus Jara has proven he isnot that person.

Contract renewal 1 message

Anne England Thu, May 13, 2021 at 11:53 AMTo: [email protected]

I plead with the Board to NOT renew Dr. Jara's contract. I am a native of Las Vegas & a CCSD graduate. What hashappened to the District under Dr. Jara's leadership is embarrassing & the worse leadership I have seen. He's made isblatantly obvious he does not respect the teachers in this district. He came to us with a letter of "non-reccomendation".This man had an opportunity to shine during Covid & has done nothing but embarrass this District. His is not a leader, buta dictator. Please find someone who can truly unify our District.

Thank you!
