4 weeks to go - surely that can't be right?! This week, staff participated in intensive technology professional development to support the quality education we are delivering to your children. I'm always proud of how our staff embrace professional development and can see the benefits for our school, your children and themselves. Our swimming program concluded today and it was pleasing to see so many students participating. Thanks to Mr Shipman for his organisation. In the coming weeks, we will be starting to form class lists for 2017. We are still in the process of confirming some staffing positions and they will be finalised in the coming weeks. Our Year 5 students are participating in a student leadership program prior to making their speeches for school captain. Speeches and voting is taking place on Wednesday, 30th November. Thanks to Mrs Gale for conducting the leadership program. Our last Kinder Orientation was conducted yesterday and wasn't it a busy day! I took great pleasure in speaking to our parents at the coffee van yesterday and it's always enjoyable talking to you about your school. Your feedback is always greatly appreciated. Thank you to the Kinder teachers, Stage 3 teachers and Stage 3 students for making the day a wonderful success. Have a great weekend. Principal - Brad Lyne Year 6 Graduation This year the Year 6 Graduation is being held at Sawtell RSL. The cost per student is $20.00 and will need to be paid by Friday, 2nd December 2016. Every student can bring two parents to the first part of the evening where the ceremony and photographs will take place. A Big Boambee Welcome! Welcome Paige and Seth. Paige has joined 5/6G and Seth has joined 1G. It is wonderful to have you and your families join our Boambee School Community. Chess

Congratulations to all of our chess teams that competed at the 2016 Chess Tournament held at St Augustine's on Thursday the 11th of November. We had five teams representing Boambee in all divisions of the competition. Our players consisted of Harry Fardy, Lara Trebilcock, Jay Mapuor, Ben Caesar, Will Axton, Tane Skinner, Luke Smith, Hayden Brown, Cooper Brooks, Kalen Marquadt, Luke Trebilcock, Oscar Croak and Rhys Mulholland. Each of our teams played exceptionally well and we managed to take third place in division A and B of the competition. A special mention to Kalen Marquadt who managed to win 8 of his 11 games and drawing one game with a stale mate in Division A, a stellar effort which made him one of the highest performing players of the competition. Well done to all of our Boambee students who represented our school and demonstrated exceptionally mature behaviour throughout the entire day.
