Volunteer, Ridgewood Backwoods Student Guild (Fall 2010 to date)

Working with town school officials and business leaders, founded a student chapter of the Ridgewood Guild to focus on safe activities and events for young people in the town to bring business to local shop owners and to provide social alternatives for young people. Helped to organize six park dances, trips to Great Adventure, several band slams, restaurant discount events and a winterfest event. Currently acting as Treasurer of Backwoods. Designed the logo.

Columnist, The Ridgewood News (Fall 2009 to date)

Write a monthly column for the town newspaper on student issues and views.

Mural Painter (Spring 2011)

Worked with members of my AP Studio Art class to paint a sidewalk mural in the town.

Assistant Coach for Girls Biddy Basketball Team (Winter 2011-Spring 2012)Served as an assistant coach of a 5th grade girls rec team and took the team to the local championship game.

Volunteer Director and Staff Member for Junior New Players Program (Winter 2011)

Served as a play director and staff member for weekend student workshops for elementary and middle school students enrolled in program.

Ridgewood High School Principal Advisory Board (Fall 2011 to date)Selected by the Principal to be a member of this student advisor committee to discuss ways to improve the school and creating a safe learning environment for all students. Focus is on teacher student relations, fostering a less stressful student experience and preventing bullying.

Ridgewood High School New Players Theater Group (Fall 2009 to date)

Participated for all four years in our schools theater group productions. Awarded parts in three main stage shows and acted in many smaller, student run productions.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Barista at the Energy Zone in Midland Park, NJ (Fall 2011to date)Work from 10 to 12 hours a week in a sports caf, serving beverages, coffees, smoothies and small snacks and sandwiches.
