Happy New Year to all of our readers. We wish everyone a happy Coptic Christmas and a happy Prophet’s Birthday. These two celebrations took place within 48 hours of one another this year, a rare occurrence that only synchronizes every 33 years.We are wrapping up 2014 , a year that witnessed our celebration to produce 20,000 vehicles and welcoming 2015 with our second issue of the BMW Egypt magazine . In this issue, we are celebrating our own unique events and milestones, including 15 years of BMW X models , 15 years of creating and producing a very successful segment. Bavarian Auto Group celebrates its local production of

the 20,000th Caring the first five years, with nearly one thousand cars being produced in 2004 and five thousand cars in 2008. After Bavarian Auto Group’s successful sales rates of the BMW 3 Series, an investment in new produc-tion lines resulted in the assembling of the BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1 and the BMW X3. The expansion of the production lines significantly helped the Egyptian economy by creating 500 new work places. Bavarian Auto Group continues to strive for development and improvement, to fully satisfy their customers in the Egyptian market.

Bavarian Auto Group celebrated its local production of the 20,000th car with Mr. Farid El Tobgui, Chair-man and CEO of Bavarian Auto Group, Mr. Mohamed Zakaria, Factory General Manager of Bavarian Auto Group and Mr. Tarek Saad, General Manager of BMW Egypt at the company’s factory in Sixth of October. The local production lines started in May 2004 with an approximate investment of US $60 million. An ad-ditional investment of $9 million was made to estab-lish new production lines in 2014. Bavarian Auto Group’s annual production has in-creased five times compared to its productions dur-

BMW have launched a new online communication platform called #BMWstories. On this platform, fans of the brand will not only be able to become acquainted with the diversity of the BMW model range, but also share their own experiences in the form of pictures and videos. Among the first to share his #BMWstory is famed Egyptian mountaineer Omar Samra. Notorious for being the first Egyptian to summit Mount Ever-est, Samra chronicles how he overcame a potentially debilitating asthma condition to go on and become a globetrotting ecotourism household name synonymous with exploration and adventure.BMW has officially entered the digital age; The automotive industry leader’s online communication platform, #BMWstories, allows fans of the brand to become acquainted with the diversity of the BMW model range and share their own experiences. On the Monday after Germany had won the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina, the Landshut/Ellermühle speedway stadium at the AC Landshut club witnessed another noteworthy – and perhaps more unusual – match up. For the first time, a representative of a lead-ing German car magazine took a BMW M235i with M Performance Parts onto the almost 400-metre-long track to compete in a drifting contest against BMW mo-torcycle dealer and four-time dirt-track world champion Karl Maier on a speedway bike.The respective starting points for the driver and rider could not have been more different. The BMW M235i M Performance, powered by a 3.0-litre BMW Twin-Power Turbo petrol engine developing 326 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), has a DIN vehicle weight of 1,470 kilo-grams and measures almost four-and-a-half metres in length. The speedway motorcycle, meanwhile, has an air-cooled 500 cc single-cylinder engine, weighs 80

kg (as per speedway regulations), makes do with just a single gear and has no brakes. The specially designed methanol-fuelled machine produces up to 80 hp and has been built exclusively for speedway track use.Despite the vastly different profiles of their machines, both driver and rider succeeded in fulfilling a common goal: five hours of “sheer drifting pleasure” on the tight-est of tracks. Its first ever meeting with the speedway bike gave the BMW M235i M Performance the chance to demonstrate its dynamic performance capability for the first time on dirt rather than asphalt.The directional stability, outstanding handling and com-municative responses of the super-sports machine al-lowed Maier to drift his way smoothly over the speed-way track, setting the seal on what was dynamically a quite extraordinary day. With Germany celebrating its World Cup win, this was surely another expression of German sporting excellence.

During this year’s London Design Festival, the Victo-ria and Albert Museum (V&A) housed the impressive “Precision and Poetry” installation by British design-ers Edward Barbet and Jay Osgerby. This remarkable installation, which was placed in the famed Raphael Gallery, was created in partnership with the BMW De-sign Team led by Karim Habib and under the overall direction of Adrian van Hooydonk. “A successful project always depends on the right partners,” said Ben Evans, Director of the London Design Festival, “and BMW not only knows about de-sign, it lives design.” With the right partner in tow, the kinetic design installation “Double Space for BMW – Precision & Poetry in Motion” brings together techni-cal precision and poetic semantics to create a com-pelling immersive experience.Presented in one of the most central and important spaces at the V&A – the 600-square-metre Raphael Gallery named after the artist’s famous Sistine Cha-pel tapestries – the installation invites visitors to direct their gaze upwards. Floating above their heads, the in-stallation consists of two reflective aluminum objects that revolve on their own axis either simultaneously or alternately. Each object measures some 15 by 10 metres and, in these impressive dimensions, cites the

monumental size of the Raphael Gallery – a place that, according to Jay Osgerby, “cries out to create some-thing great.”“‘Double Space for BMW’ is a compelling projec-tion of our design concept for the BMW brand,” says Karim Habib, Head of Design BMW Automobiles. “The reflections on a precision-built metal structure bring poetry alive while dismantling habitual percep-tions of architecture and its environment. At the same time tradition and modernity are brought together here. Through ‘Double Space for BMW’ visitors are able to see and experience well-known Renaissance paintings in an utterly new and highly personal way.”This project is already the sixth collaboration of its kind. Past installations presented during the Salone del Mobile, Milan’s home furnishing fair, are “Dwell-ing Lab” with Patricia Urquiola, Giulio Ridolfo and Kvadrat (2010), “Sestosenso” with Paul Cocksedge and Flos (2011), “COLOUR ONE for MINI by Schol-ten & Baijings”(2012), “MINI Kapooow!”, MINI Design Team (2013) and “Parallels” with United Visual Art-ists (2014). These installations continue to prove that BMW is not only committed to performance, but the artistic and aesthetic nuances that fans of the auto-motive industry have come to love.

BMW M is extending its successful partnership with Dorna Sports, setting it to remain the “Official Car of MotoGP” for the coming years. Despite their current contract covering two more– it was set to ex-pire in 2016 – BMW M GmbH and MotoGP organiser Dorna Sports have extended their cooperation by a further four years to 2020. This means BMW will continue to provide the safety car fleet for the pre-mier league of motorcycle racing since 1999, celebrating the partner-ship’s 20th anniversary in 2019.The provision of the safety cars and the rest of the official fleet lies at the heart of the partnership. This season, the fleet consists of five BMW M and M Performance models, spearheaded by the BMW M4 Coupé Safety Car. Despite its long history, BMW M GmbH has contin-uously expanded its MotoGP activities in recent years. The subsidiary of BMW AG uses MotoGP for extensive sales, marketing and commu-nication activities to present new cars, technology, special equipment

and accessories to a key target group.“We are delighted with this contract extension and are grateful to our partner Dorna Sports for the trust they have shown in us. BMW M and Dorna Sports share the same understanding of sporting excellence,” said Dr. Friedrich Nitschke, CEO of BMW M GmbH. BMW M will continue to provide the safety car fleet for MotoGP over the coming years, with the partnership set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2019.

BMW added to its long and prestigious history of ac-colades at this year’s Sport Auto Award 2014, with a formidable five class wins and one second place win. This came as confirmation that BMW continues to set the bar for combining high performance with a time-honored brand of driving pleasure and consummate every day usability. The “Sport Auto Award”, presented annually by famed German automotive magazine “Sport Auto”, is one of the leading German awards for sporting cars. With 2014 marking the 34th year that the magazine’s readers have been called on to vote, the prestigious awards remain highly coveted and sought after by the automotive industry at large. This year, 234 models were nominated in 15 series-production categories and 10 tuning classes. A total of 15,551 readers took part in the poll (which ran from 17 April to 18 July) via survey postcard, online survey or one of the “sport auto” digital channels.

Once the results were tallied, it was clear that BMW was making a strong showing once again. The BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Coupe were among the biggest voter favorites, with the two BMW M Division models asserting their superiority in the classes for “Saloons/Estates up to €100,000” and “Coupés up to €100,000” respectively. The winners in the “Cou-pés up to €50,000” and “Compact Cars” categories also carry an “M” in their model designation – the BMW M235i Coupe and BMW M135i.Elsewhere in the competition, the BMW 335i held sway in the “Saloons/Estates up to €50,000” class, reprising its success from the previous year in impres-sive style. It all started with an X. This letter was first used as a model designation for a BMW automobile as early as in the mid-1980s to indicate that it featured four-wheel drive technology. The car’s dual symmetry was the ideal allegory for the transmission of drive torque to all four wheels.Fifteen years ago, however, the letter X came to sym-bolize of an entirely new vehicle category and with it, a very special form of driving pleasure. The BMW X5 made its debut as the world’s first Sports Activ-ity Vehicle, going on to conquer not only the road but also off-road terrain, whilst equally attracting new tar-get groups to the BMW brand. This was proof of one simple fact –the German premium automobile manu-facturer demonstrated its extraordinary sense for in-novative and future-oriented vehicle concepts. Among the assemblies produced at the plant were engines for the legendary JU 52 aircraft, along with the manufacture of motorcycle parts in 1949. Ini-tially, these parts were sent to the Munich plant where motorcycle assembly had been concentrated since 1923. From 1967, however, the entire motorcycle production operation was relocated in stages from Munich to Berlin.It is clear that the BMW Motorrad has come a long way since it first roared on to the scene in Berlin in 1939. However, it has managed to strike a balance between staying true to its roots and continuing to pave the way in automotive innovation and design.

المجموعة الباڤارية للسيارات تحتفل ٢٠ بإنتاج السيارة رقم ٠٠٠

رقم السيارة بإنتاج للسيارات الباڤارية المجموعة احتفلت فريد ا/ بحضور وذلك محلياً المجمعة السيارات من 20,000الطوبجى رئيس مجلس ادارة الشركة و م/ محمد زكريا مدير كانت ، مصر BMW عام مدير سعد طارق م/ و المصنع عام المجموعة الباڤارية قد وجهت دعوة لإلعالميين لالحتفال معها

بهذا االنجاز في مصنع الشركة بالسادس من اكتوبر.التجميع بدأ و بالعمل اإلنتاج خطوط بدأت 2004 مايو ففي المحلي باستثمارات بلغت قرابة 60 مليون دوالر أمريكي، وقد تاريخ من المختلفة المراحل خالل االستثمارات تلك ضخ تم الشركة ، الي ان تم مؤخًرا ضخ استثمارات جديدة وصلت الي 9 مليون دوالر إلقامة خطوط دهان جديدة وحديثة وذلك في

العام الجاري 2014.

لصناعة الباڤارية للشركة السنوي اإلنتاج حجم تضاعف وقد السيارات خمسة أضعاف خالل الخمس سنوات األولي من عمر الشركة، حيث تم انتاج ما يقرب من ألف سيارة عام 2004 في حين تم إنتاج ما يقارب من خمسة آالف سيارة عام 2008 ، عاًما بأن قدرة المصنع االنتاجية هي عشرة آالف سيارة سنويًا بواقع

وردية عمل واحدة يوميًا.و بعد النجاح غير المسبوق لمبيعات السيارة BMW الفئة الثالثة بدأ المصنع في التوسع وتجميع BMW الفئة الخامسة و السابعة المجموعة ومازالت المصري للسوق وتقديمها X3 و X1 و السيارات بصناعة التقدم و التطور في مستمرة الباڤارية المحلية و إتاحة فرص عمل ألكثر من 500 عامل بشكل مباشر

مما يساهم في النهوض باالقتصاد المصري بشكل كبير.

أعلنت BMW M عن تمديد شراكتها الناجحة مع شركة “دورنا سبورتس”، ما يجعلها السيارة الرسمية لـ”موتو جي بي” خالل السنوات القادمة. فعلى الرغم من أن تعاقدهما الحالي يتبقى له عامان قبل انتهائه – إذ من المقرر أن ينتهي في عام 2016– إال أن شركتا BMW M GmbH و”دورنا سبورتس”، المنظمة حتى إضافية سنوات أربع لمدة تعاونهما بتمديد قامتا بي”، جي لـ”موتو BMW M تقدم أسطول سيارات السالمة من أجل 2020. وكانت شركة عام 1999، وهذه الشراكة الدوري الممتاز لسباقات الدراجات النارية منذ عام
