Stand Up Paddle Board Lessons, July 23
Outdoor Recreation
Come out and experience the latest craze in ocean activities
on Friday, July 23 with a Blue Star Card Stand Up Paddle Board
Lesson! Take advantage of a special 10% discount through
Outdoor Recreation with a valid Blue Star Card! Transportation
will be leaving from Outdoor Recreation on Schoeld Barracksat 6:30 am and will return around 12:30 pm. Spaces are

Big R: Pool Party, July 31 Richardson Pool,
Schoeld BarracksCelebrate another month of deployment complete with a
splash! Join your Blue Star Card friends on Saturday, July 31,
from 3:00 6:00 pm, at Richardson Pool, Schoeld Barracks.
Light pupus will be provided. This is a family friendly event.

Walk off the Wait: Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, August 3
Join us on our latest Blue Star Card hike at the HoomaluhiaBotanical Garden, Tuesday, August 3. Free transportation will
be leaving from the Schoeld Barracks Bowling Center parking
lot at 8:30 am and returning around 1:00 pm. This trip will be a
2 hour nature walk. Please bring a sack lunch and water for the
walk. Also, dont forget bug spray! For more information or to
register call 655-0002 or 655-0112/3. Deadline to register for
this event is July 27.

Join us for the 4th of July Spectacular on Sills Field, Schoeld
Barracks. The day long festivities include a 5K Fun Run,
Childrens 1 mile Fun Run, games, rides, food booths, craft
booths, reworks and live entertainment, including a free
concert performed bySMASHMOUTH!

Theatre Night:, July 22 Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter
Join us for a special Blue Star Card Preview Night performance of
Army Community Theatres Broadway in Concert Production of Nine
on Thursday, July 22. Nine is a vibrant and provocative musical that
follows the life of Italian lm director Guido Contini and the epic crises
he faces in his personal and professional lives. He must strike a
balance of the demands of numerous women in his life, including his
wife, his mistress, and his condant. Curtain call is at 7:30 pm. Enjoy
free pupus prior to the show, transportation and childcare. Spaces are

Parents Night Out
Parents Night Out will be held July 10 (AMR CDC), and July 24 (Schoeld CDC and SchoeldSchool Age Center). For more information on Parents Night Out or to make a reservation, call
the Schoeld Barracks CYS Services Registration Ofce at 655-5314 or the AMR Registration
Ofce at 833-5393.
Keiki Question of the month:My teen children and I are having difculty with what to doand where to go for the summer. The teen center that my children are currently attending
does not provide a fun & exciting experience. In addition, the hours of operation do not t
my work schedule. Are there any programs or events that my teens can attend to occupy
their time while I am at work?
Answer:Child, Youth & School Services hosts a Teen Summer Camp. It is located in the
Teen Centers on Fort Shafter, Aliamanu Military Reservation and Schoeld Barracks. The
program provides teens with many creative and fun activities. In addition, the teen willbe able to go on a variety of eld trips around the island, such as the Polynesian Cultural
Center, Box Car Racing, & Wet N Wild, to name a few. They also go camping, swimming,
hiking, and more! We assure you that your teens will not be bored at our Summer Camp
Program. For more information on this program please call 833-0920 or 438-1487.

INGREDIENTS
Red or blue fruit-avored beverage
Seltzer (or clear soda)
DIRECTIONS
Simply ll an ice cube tray with a red or
blue fruit-avored beverage (such as
Powerade, Gatorade, or Kool-Aid) and let
the cubes freeze solid. Then drop three or
four colored cubes into each glass, pour
in avored seltzer water or clear soda, and
watch the special effects. As the cubes
melt, colored bubbles will swirl through the
seltzer.
