Alan was a kind and gentle man who suffered bravely at the end of his life and he will be missed by us all. If you are new to the area or do not know a member then please call in, sign in as a guest and take a look around. The staff will introduce you to members who may then wish to propose you. Applica- ons must be made on the form and the applicaon fee paid. Processing will take at least 7 days and you will be asked to aend an informal interview before your membership is ra- fied. There is no joining fee and annual membership will cost no more than £2 a month. Please ensure that you read the Club Rules before applying for membership. BLUE SKY NEWS www.portsmouthconservativeclub.co.uk E Mail- [email protected] OFFICIAL OPENING NIGHT A full house of members and guests aended at the club to see The Lord Smith of Hindhead CBE make the official open- ing of the new look club on Saturday 1st April and unveiled the brass plaque kindly donated by Harris Brothers. He paid tribute to the work of the commiee and officers and thanked all of them and the members for turning around the fortunes of the club over the past three years and taking the club in a new excing direcon. He said how immensely proud he was as he drove up and saw the new signPORTSMOUTH CONSERVATIVE CLUB He was grateful that the commiee had taken this step, realising that a viable future could only be achieved by expanding the scope and ambions of the Club and he urged all members now to show their pride in the club by introducing new members, as this was the key to long term success. Club chair Carol Rymes thanked Lord Smith and Dave Harris of Harris Brothers Contracng Services Ltd (main contractors) for taking the me to visit the club, all members for aending and the execuve com- miee for their connuing support. Following the official opening, the members and guests enjoyed champagne supplied by Tolchards Ltd and a wonderful buffet served by Sheila, Gill and Paula. see The Lord Smith of Hindhead CBE make the official open-
