Dear Resident, International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a chance to celebrate the gifts and contributions that people with disabilities bring to our Blue Mountains community. This years international Day of People with a Disability theme is. “Inclusion maers: access and empowerment for people of all abilies”
This annual theme provides a frame for considering how people with a disability are excluded from society by promoting the removal of all types of barriers; including those relating to the physical environment, information and communications technology (ICT), or attitudinal barriers. This has been occurring since 1992 when the General Assembly proclaimed 3 December as the International Day of Disabled Persons. Through the calendar of events planned we have tried to work towards this very theme. We hope that you will be able to join in with one or more of these great events planned. Have a look at our calendar and be part of the fun! Korey Gunnis Chairperson Blue Mountains IDPwD
