3. “Bio-Hydrogen” as Next Generation Energy
13
There is no other case of commercialization of biomass-based hydrogen gas production in the world. With the hydrogen economy/society potential, it will be “high added-value bio hydrogen supply business”.For the existing hydrogen market for industrial use, there is a significant increase of attention to bio-hydrogen due to the needs of users for CO2 reduction.

Is it eco-friendly hydrogen?? 1) Most of the current hydrogen in the market is
produced using fossil fuel such as petrochemical, coal and natural gas
2) Most of the hydrogen is produced in coastal industry areas such as petrochemical complex.
3.2 Bio-Hydrogen Against Fossil Fuel-originated H2
Ours, YES!
15
Hydrogen possesses extensive uses in various areas today, and several items of the following fields.
3.3 Broad Commercial Applications
" Petroleum Refinery: ‒ Desulfurization, reformation
" Chemical Processing: ‒ Ammonia production (fertilizer, synthetic resin) ‒ Methanol production (coating material, medical) ‒ Hydrogen peroxide (bleaching/sanitizing agent) ‒ Hydrogen additives (organic compounds) ‒ Oil reformation (margarine, cooking(salad) oil) ‒ Hydrazine (Anti-enzyme, anti-corrosion)
" Weak Electric: ‒ Atmosphere gas (semiconductor crystal, IC, LSI,
PV)
" Metal: ‒ Bright annealing (stainless steel) ‒ Sintered alloy (electric component) ‒ Heat treatment ‒ Plasma welding
" Power Plant: ‒ Cooling agent
" Glass: ‒ Atmosphere glass (float glass)
" Aerospace Engineering: ‒ Rocket engine fuel
" Automobile: ‒ Fuel cell vehicle
" Electric Transmission: ‒ Superconductivity And…

5. Summary: Benefits for All Parties Involved
" The project will add another lucrative business to the Owner’s "Energy and Infrastructure" segment/portfolio
" The Owner can make appeal to the global market with its “clean” business as a
part of SRI Socially Responsible Investment initiative. " With BLUE IGP, the Owner will be able to demonstrate to the world the FIRST
clean energy showcase of biomass-to-hydrogen project " Through the project, the Owner will be able to build its track record in biomass
utilization, specifically through the use of unused EFBs and/or other abandoned materials
" Malaysia, through its governmental support, can exhibit its clean energy efforts and leadership to the global society
Through its generated value, the aim of this project will create benefits to all the parties involved, and hence will create win-win relationship among one another
