THE NAME IS A COMBINATION OF "BLUE" (BLUE-VIOLET LASER) AND "RAY" (OPTICAL RAY)
ACCORDING TO THE BLU-RAY DISC ASSOCIATION IN THE SPELLING OF "BLU-RAY“,THE CHARACTER "E" WAS INTENTIONALLY LEFT OUT SO THE TERM COULD BE REGISTERED AS A TRADEMARK.
