Blood collection began with the offer from College Principal Prof(Dr). Nutan Kumar Resutra for donation of blood followed by Prof. Hans Raj Sharma, Convener, 'College Red Ribbon Club', various faculty members and number of volunteers. Team of doctors and paramedical staff from District Hospital remained technically involved in the camp. STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: SDM Mendhar Mohd Afzal Mirza on Friday inaugurated one day workshop /awareness programme at TRC Mendhar on scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) and other related schemes . STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: District Congress Committee (DCC) leaders alleged that previous govern- ment of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) was the most cor- rupt government and during their three and half year tenure they encouraged cor- ruption. This was stated by Ex Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban Ashok Kumar Dogra while address- ing the media persons, he added that the BJP govern- ment supported corruption and this was the main reason for increase in corruption in the State. While counting their previ- ous achievements Dogra said that the various projects start- ed in the tenure of Congress government in the State in health, education, PHE, PMGSY departments were inaugurated during BJP gov- ernment. Panchayat Election District President DCC Farooq Katoch, Block President Farooq Choudhary and Khalid Wani were also present. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Deputy Commission Rajouri, Mohammed Aijaz Asad flagged off Mission Indradhanush Express, aimed at creating awareness among the people about the significance of vaccination, here on Friday. The DC said that the main aim of mission Indradhanush is to immunise all children under the age of 2 years, along with all pregnant women, against vaccine-preventable dis- eases. The mission is aimed to cover all those children who need medical attention by 2020 who have been either unvaccinated or are partially vaccinated against the vaccine-preventable diseases. DC asked the concerned for proper distribution of vaccines at all levels so that all left-out target group can be covered and complete immunization can be achieved in the district. The Universal Immunization program would provide life-saving vaccines to the children across the nation free of cost, to protect them against various diseases like diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, measles, and Hepatitis B. Besides, other activities under IEC were started to make people aware of the mission and other health-related programmes. Army organises medical camp STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: Army undertook a noble initiative of organising med- ical camp at Village- Butmullah (Mughal Maidan), Kishtwar Distt on Friday. This camp was conducted to make essential medical serv- ices to the Awam. Over 170 people turned up from adjoining areas and availed free medical facilities. The medical team provided qual- ity medical treatment and free medicines during the camp. A health awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue on hygiene and sanitation and lifestyle diseases. The main motive of this med- ical camp was to provide proper treatment to the local residents of these remote villages who face extreme difficulties in accessing prop- er and affordable health care facilities and to sensitise the people that health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology - Jammu organised campaign on 'Yellow rust of wheat' at tribal village Khad in Thuroo Block of Reasi District in which large number of tribal farmers from the village active- ly participated. The programme was organised under the guid- ance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr.R.K Arora. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist- cum-Head of KVK, Reasi gave a detailed view of the aforemen- tioned chronic disease in wheat. Dr.Sanjay Kaushal, scientist suggested that the farmers should sow the disease resistant varieties and should take the consultations from the experts of SKUAST-J for the remedial measures of the disease. Farmers asked certain quar- ries which KVK scientists answered in a satisfactorily way. KVK also laid Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) on oat and wheat and KVK scientist demonstrated the various tech- nologies so that yield of wheat and oat can be increased for the farmers. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and Md.Iqbal and concluded by Dr.Banarsi Lal with the formal vote of thanks. Army screens movie for youth STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Army organised screening of movie 'Secret Superstar' at Modern Public Academy, Dara Dullian in Poonch District on Friday. A large number of students of village Dara Dullian enjoyed the movie. In absence of a theatre in the region, screening of movie is much sought after event by the local population. The movies are a good source of infotainment as besides the entertainment it promulgates the contempo- rary social messages to the environment. The students thanked army for a wonder- ful time spent. STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: District Election Officer Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana on Friday chaired a meet- ing with the representatives of political parties and reviewed the progress of special summa- ry revision. DEO informed that a special summary revision camp of photo electoral rolls is going to be held on 16-12-2018 for enrollment of left out voters which shall be organized at every polling station, along with BLAs (Booth level agents). Besides, all BLOs were directed to remain present dur- ing the Special Camp day. DEO asked the representa- tives of various political parties to appoint their Booth level Agents and provide the list of same in election cell at an earli- est in order to assist the BLOs, EROs and AEROs in prepar- ing an error-free electoral rolls as well as smooth conduct of the process of Special Summary Revision. DEO directed ACD and EO Municipality to give wide pub- licity to the special camps through drum beating by involving their subordinate staff in each ward/ Panchayat on daily basis pertaining to enrollment of newly eligible vot- ers and left out voters. During the meeting, a list of BLOs and polling stations was provided to the representatives of political parties. The DC said that the main aim of missionIndradhanush is to immunise all children under the age of 2 years,along with all pregnant women, against vaccine-preventable dis-eases. The mission is aimed to cover all those children who needmedical attention by 2020 who have been either unvaccinated orare partially vaccinated against the vaccine-preventable diseases.DC asked the concerned for proper distribution of vaccines at alllevels so that all left-out target group can be covered and completeimmunization can be achieved in the district.

The Universal Immunization program would provide life-savingvaccines to the children across the nation free of cost, to protectthem against various diseases like diphtheria, whooping cough,tetanus, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, measles, and Hepatitis B.

KISHTWAR: Army undertook a noble initiative of organising med-ical camp at Village- Butmullah (Mughal Maidan), Kishtwar Distton Friday. This camp was conducted to make essential medical serv-ices to the Awam. Over 170 people turned up from adjoining areasand availed free medical facilities. The medical team provided qual-ity medical treatment and free medicines during the camp. A healthawareness campaign was also conducted at the venue on hygieneand sanitation and lifestyle diseases. The main motive of this med-ical camp was to provide proper treatment to the local residents ofthese remote villages who face extreme difficulties in accessing prop-er and affordable health care facilities and to sensitise the peoplethat health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
