Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplant (BMSCT)SIG Making an Impact Around the World BMSCT SIG MISSON STATEMENT AND GOALS Blood & Marrow Stem Cell Transplant nursing exists to provide optimal care to persons who undergo BMSCT. Therefore, the mission of the BMSCT SIG is to promote excellence in BMSCT nursing by: Promoting the highest professional standards of BMSCT nursing Studying, researching and exchanging standards of BMSCT nursing Encouraging nurses to specialize in the practice of BMSCT nursing Fostering the professional development of BMSCT nurses, individually and collectively Maintaining an organizational structure and function that is responsive to the changing needs of BMSCT SIG members and the populations they represent. Goals: To provide expert voice for BMSCT oncology nursing practice and research. SIG members identify professional development as being influenced by knowledge they gain through participation in online BMSCT course, Tandem BMT and ONS meetings and publications. BMSCT partnership with professional organizations and other entities to address care needs of the BMSCT patients and SIG members (nurse).
