Business Information & Technology Faculty S1 & S2 Coverage of the curriculum The courses are developed and delivered based on the key concepts from the Technologies and Social Studies Benchmarks produced by Education Scotland. The courses also embed experiences and outcomes across Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing. The tasks that learners will complete in this booklet will provide evidence of progress and standards they achieve. After all learners have completed the rotations they will be provided with further personalisation and choice in the remainder of their curriculum by engaging with our elective programme.

An exciting range of electives are on offer for all learners. Each elective has been designed to provide an enriching learning experience that provides a taster for courses offered in the senior phase.

What electives are on offer from the B.I.T Faculty?

App Development

Have you ever thought how that app you use all the time was created? Well this may be the course for you. You will use code.org to design and develop your very own app. This will involve software design and programming skills with a focus on using JavaScript.

Digital Business Do you see yourself as the next Lord Sugar or JK Rowling? Do you fancy starting up your own business? This course develops your digital skills by supporting you in designing your very own website based on YOUR own business. You will learn how successful businesses continue to grow and use digital technologies to keep customers satisfied.

Psychology This course explores issues around stress. It provides you with an idea of strategies used to cope with stressful situations. As we live in a very fast moving society perhaps this course will give you some ideas/tips on how to cope with everyday challenges and stresses.
