LiteracySpellingThis session we have learned and discussed many of the different ways you can write a vowel sound. We call these the alternative vowel sounds. Here is an image of the vowel hand which shows all the different ways that you can make each of the vowel sounds.
You will notice a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e and u-e. These are showing you how “magic e” works.
Watch this youtube video link to a song about Magic E

Numeracy and MathsNumeracyThis week we will continue to focus on the skill of estimating.
Remember that estimating means having a go at guessing an answer and using clues to try to guess as close to actual answer as possible. See the challenges at the bottom of this grid.
I like to look at the pictures and think how many are near one side and that gives me a clue for many there might be altogether.
Number TalksLook at the three number talks below, for each work out how many altogether? How did you count it? Can you find three different ways to count it?
The ‘e’ on the end stretched the middle vowel sound and makes it say its capital name.
Here are some words which use the magic e spelling pattern.
tub tub + e tubetap tap + e tapekit kit + e kite
Look at the worksheet below, in your jotter copy the pictures and then write the word next to it remembering the magic e rule.

create. Your writing should answer the questions below:
What will you make? How big will it be? What will it look like? What purpose will it serve? Who will you invite to help you in this
project? What could possibly go wrong with it?
What will you do to prevent this? Where will your Lego creation be located?
The video below also explains your writing challenge:
