Learning Grid Week Beginning 15th June 2020Weekly Focus Write Say Make Do
Sound: Revision of the sounds taught. Choose
a couple of sounds from the last few weeks
to practise.
Maths: Information Handling – I can sort
and collect data/objects in different ways. I can
use tally marks to create a tally chart. I
can create a bar graph.
Choose one colour chalk or pencil to write your
words on the ground or paper. Then write over them with four other
colours.
Look at the attached pictures. Look at the clue, say the word and spell it out using your sounds. You can write on the
picture on the screen or print it out.
Make a word search using the attached grid or the
following link https://thewordsearch.com/maker/ (please note the word search will be
created in capital letters – a good opportunity to
revise the link between lower case and upper
case letters)
With a partner play toss or roll a word. You will need a ball or rolled up socks. You say the first letter of your word then
toss the ball to your partner who says the
second letter and so on until you have spelled the
whole word.
Can you complete the attached worksheet by counting how many and drawing the tally marks?
Read the story Treasures in the Garden with a grown up.
Collect items of treasure from your garden. Think and
talk about what you have collected. What have you collected most of? How
could you find out? Could you create a tally chart?
For recording your scores for sports day, make your
own tally chart. An example is included in
the sports day pack
Create your own bar graph using a box of smarties to show how many of each
colour or create your own bar graph using your fruit bowl to show the different types of fruit. Can you use tally marks to count how
many of each before creating your graph?

the phone.Think about why it is
important to look after our sea turtles?

Use the template provided if you want or
draw your own.
Find out what the differences are between turtle and tortoises on
the worksheet attached.
We look forward to sharing in the children’s learning and hope you will be able to send us evidence of one literacy, one maths/numeracy and one topic task each week. Please email these to us at the end of each week and we will provide some feedback for your child. Emails can be sent to individual teachers or via the school office on [email protected].
