Most ILS systems have the functionality to add URLs to favorite sites.

To add the blog, you first need to open the page and copy the URL to your clipboard.

Copy it into the “Favorites” option in your ILS system and your staff now has access to a work-related blog!

Use a site such as Blogger or Bloglines to create the blog.

Add exciting collection information, exhibit dates, new collection details, or a newsworthy event to your blog.

Add access to your library’s blog to your OPAC.

Remember to keep your blog updated. Services such as Bloglines have options to allow stories from other feeds and blogs to be clipped for your blog (see “Blog This”).

Blogs can help your library staff stay on top of industry news and a blog can also create interaction between your library and the community it serves.
