TEKATRAK VB-1 in VB-2 sheet metal waterstops

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONThe successful sealing of joints depends on the proper selection of waterstop materials, shapes and profiles, as well as on their proper position in the building and appropriate expert installation.

Hydroblocker Tekatrak VB 1 is a waterstop made of tin and covered with a special coating on one side. This coating forms the connection with concrete which provides waterproofness of construction joints. • Sheet metal width: 120 mm or 150 mm • Sheet metal thickness: 1.3 mm Hydroblocker Tekatrak VB 2 is a version of tin sheet metal which is covered with special bituminous coating from both sides and this enables watertight concrete joint.• Sheet metal width: 160 mm• Sheet metal thickness: 1.3 mm

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Installation and fixing Waterstops are installed only if they are not deformed or damaged because that can influence the sealing proper-ties later on. They have to be clean and free of ice before setting in concrete. • The special coating is protected with a paper tape which is cut in the middle. • Turn the tape so the coating is facing the side where water ingress is expected, then remove the bottom half of the protective paper. • The tape is placed in the centre of reinforcement which is left for wall concreting as shown in the drawing. • Mounting clamps are applied on the tapes and attached to the reinforcement using a wire. The sealing tapes are attached by mounting clamps and spaced at 60-70 cm. They have to be attached in a way which will prevent changes in their position during concreting. • Two ends of the tape are connected by overlapping them for at least 5 cm and the connection is secured with a connection clamp. • In corners, metal sheet waterstops can be simply bended in the desired form.

Concreting It is necessary to clean the sealing tapes before concreting (e.g.: saw dust, sand, concrete residue, cement residue, oil, grease etc.). The waterstops should be set at least 3 cm deep into the concrete slab. Remove the rest of the protective tape after cover-ing the board with concrete but before formwork is placed on the walls. Sealing tapes should be entirely covered with concrete, with no empty space. During the vibration of concrete, make sure the sealing tapes and their clamps don’t come into contact with the vibrator.

STORAGE Sealing tapes must be protected from damages and moisture.

PACKAGING A carton containing a 20 m rolls together with 30 mounting clamps and 2 connection clamps.
