Most cement blocks are pitted with indentations and have a ROUGH surface. Some cement render where coarse river sand is used, also has a ROUGH finish.

NOT ALL CEMENT RENDER IS ROUGH.

Therefore, for ROUGH surfaces there clearly exists the need for a filler.

Some people use Block and Render Filler on smooth surfaces, and are met with problems, overlooking label directions clearly stating ‘rough cement blockwork’ and ‘coarse cement render’.

For defect free cement blocks and render there is no need for a filler and Duralex finishing paints should be applied direct to the cleaned surface.
