Introduction

DundrumislocatedinthemostaffluentpartofSouthDublinapproximately5kilometressouthofDublinCityCentrewith theM50located2kilometrestothewest.

Crossridge Investments Ltd., a whollyowned Irish private development group,assembled a 28 acre site to the southernend of Dundrum village and prepared amasterplantocreateanewtownforSouthDublin.

The local authority confirmed its statusas the second town in the district of DunLaoghaire Rathdown County Council withapopulationof160,000.

The Town Centre zoning has beenupgradedbythegovernmentagenciestoaMetropolitanDistrictCentre,which isonelevelremovedfromCityCentrestatus.

OncompletionofthetownCrossridgeplanto ensure that Dundrum is Dublin’s bestofficelocation.

The first stage of the development hasapproximately 600 m2 of offices that hasbeenoccupiedbyRSAwhohaveover500staffusingthefacilities.

The proposed Phase 2 development site,sits adjacent to the existing Dundrumdevelopment and represents the latestproposalsfortheplannedexpansionoftheDundrumTownCentre.

Planning permission for Phase 2 wasapprovedin2007.

Thecurrentschemeincludesoffices,retail,restaurantsandleisure.

Onopeningdaythecentrewasfullyletandhastradedverysuccessfullysincethenwith500 independent national retailers votingDundrumforthepast3consecutiveyearsasthebestplacetodobusiness.

The centre attracted many first timeinternationalretailerstoIrelandwithHouse

of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, H&M, Bershka,MassimoDuttiandmanyothers.

First stand-alone stores in Ireland forretailersincludingTimberland,HugoBoss,GantandHarveyNichols.

The centre has won over 28 national andinternational awards and is recognised asone of Europe’s leading developments inurbandesign.

The Town Centre is maintained to a veryhigh standard and has an experiencedprofessional team including a CentreDirector, Head of Security, MobilityManager, Car Park Manager and FacilitiesManager backed up by a fully trainedstaff. ■
