Most people think of themselves as good drivers, but the simple fact is that accidents can happen to anyone, no matter how skilled they are behind the wheel. When you’re out on the road, you need all the help you can get in order to stay safe. Having said that, let’s explore some simple vehicle safety measures you should consider.

• While behind the wheel of a car or truck, the driver typically can’t see certain areas around the vehicle. These are known as blind spots or, alternatively, visual voids.

• Blind spots are dangerous because a driver may accidentally veer into a vehicle, pedestrian, or object without even realizing that anything is in the area.

• All cars and trucks on the road can have blind spots, but the problem is significantly worse for large vehicles. In an RV, huge blind spots can exist on all four sides of the vehicle.

• The biggest blind spot of all is on the right side of a large vehicle.

• Properly adjusting vehicle mirrors can substantially reduce—if not completely remove—blind spots. One problem with relying on mirrors, however, is their tendency to get knocked out of position without the driver noticing.

• There is another solution that has been shown to be highly effective in erasing blind spots: video cameras.

• Magnadyne has a variety of video camera systems designed for this purpose.
