Is Your Coach Evolving? For the past 15 years, the world of personal and then business coaching exploded on to our scenes as part of

the self help, leadership genre. But wait... has it actually improved our lives and got us to where we really

wanted to go? I guess, for some of us the answer is a resounding YES and for the rest of us, it’s, “ well I

have learnt a lot,”...and “ it was interesting” and … and… The truth of the matter is, some of us are good

students with the doer mentality and some of us are learners with the academic mentality. Being trained as

a coach myself back in the day and absorbing all the NLP and mindset psychology techniques, I have come

to the conclusion that the coach and the coachee, have to have just one thing in common before the rela-

tionship can bear fruit in the right direction. Would you like to know what that is? It’s simple—an exchange

of mutual value that goes beyond the financial aspects. Both parties have to understand, like a symbiotic

relationship, they are dynamically learning from each other and the information that passes between the

them has to be inspiring enough to create a call to action—in BOTH of them! Great coaching has evolved. No

longer should it be that the coach has all the answers and the coachee takes the answers and turns them in

to action. It is a place of mutual development. A good coach fades out the rules and protocols of their train-

ings and gives themselves over to their clients and absorbs their information so much so that they become

intuitive to the need of their client. This absorbed information brings up an inner knowing of what the client

WOULD do in certain circumstances and is therefore able to come up with a better solution in the exact

modality of the client. In return the client feels a sense of trust ,together with an uncanny connection which

environment and legal education. Running alongside is The Poverty Alleviation Programme, which has been running for almost a decade.

It's main objectives are to finance small enterprises - in particular for women, in order to raise the in-come they can contribute to the family - to provide technical and business support services and to provide credit linked to support services.

With support and encour-agement, training and loans, the women of Mauritius are well on the road to empowerment.

The National Women Entrepre-neur Council (NWEC) encour-ages women’s development and entrepreneurship across the is-lands of Mauritius & Rodrigues.

Set up to empower and instil business culture in Mauritius women, over 1500 women entre-preneurs are affiliated to the council and numbers are grow-ing.

The initiative is in line with a Government objective to provide support to start up businesses. Their low-cost training programs operate regionally to improve the competitiveness of women-owned enterprises, having strong links with local and over-seas training institutions.

Training can be given in areas such as project development, counselling, marketing, network-ing and business and develop-ment services.

Business development officers are on hand to assist female en-trepreneurs and give advice on such issues as permits and li-censes, finance schemes and training. On average, 20 women each day get advice on market-ing their businesses, opportuni-ties and expansion plans.

For those seeking financial as-sistance, there is individual guid-ance on loans, so women want-ing to start up a business can make an informed decision and be prepared for bank loans.

Last July saw the setting up of a loan scheme solely for female entrepreneurs.

One of the main areas of help and advice provided by the NWEC is in marketing. Different strategies are encouraged to help members market their goods and services and the businesses can increase their share in international markets through working closely with En-terprise Mauritius.

The NWEC also organises trade fairs and annual awards to moti-vate and reward members, as well as producing a directory or product catalogue, to showcase products of some of the women

in the group.

Along with the NWEC, the Minis-try of Women's Rights and Fam-ily Affairs in Mauritius works to promote women’s rights and drive their successes.

The Women's Unit, for example, accessible via more than a thou-

sand women's associations throughout the island, provide services ranging from training, in-formation, educa-tion and commu-nication on is-sues such as economic em-powerment,

Has the Ancient

Mayan prediction

of 2012 already

begun?

No sooner were we getting

over the shock of the Haitian

earthquake, the world reeled

again with another disaster

that highlighted, on another

level, the gap between the

rich and poor.

The country in question- Chile. The earthquake which struck on 27th February 2010, measured 8.6 on the Richter Scale causing a tsunami that practically ripped open southern Chile. The Chil-ean government is in fear that the country may not be able to economically and socially re-cover from the devastation. But you know what? It seems that there is something else go-ing on. At the end of last year, I watched the film 2012. Yes it was another sensationalised American block buster, portraying how the world would be if the thousand year old environmental prediction of the ancient Mayans came true. I saw the film and thought, wow, that would be awful.

Then, a month later the Haitian Earthquake struck, with the same frightening scenes I saw on the film. Only a few weeks later, on the 16th of February 2010, another, not so know disaster struck but this time in the southern region of Italy. A horrific landslide started mov-ing the earth as though it had a monstrous life of it’s own. I sat looking at the Italian news in a strange mixture of fascination, horror and knowing. Then of course 10 days later, Chile suffered. Are we entering the period of time we all know is coming? I certainly do not think we should be frightened of these incredible environmental changes. I believe we should raise ourselves to higher levels of consciousness and tap in to our inner selves to gain the knowledge we need that will help those who are in acute need. The power of the imagination manifests in many ways and we have done a darn good job in manifesting this one. Let’s dream and try again. NS

I wanted to share this lovely idea with you. I seriously LOVE this and it's working a treat ;)

You will relate to this if you are of the spiritual mindset and if you believe, as I do, that the universe provides for you…

I truly believe that I get what I need. It doesn't always turn up in the form I'd imagined - in fact, rarely - but there's no doubt that somebody knows better than I do what's best for me. I find my greatest suc-cesses come when I recognise that I am not the driver of my vehicle, only a passenger. I can know where I want to go, have that vision and have my sights set on the horizon, but how I get there isn't necessarily the path I thought I was taking - so somebody else is definitely at the wheel. Lucky, as I lose concentration on long jour-neys…

So I was talking with a good friend of mine who I know from the OSHO Resort in Pune (www.osho.com - amazing, beautiful, spiritual place for a journey of self-discovery & awareness) … and we were talking about something really deep and spiritual…

OKAY, OKAY, we were talking about GUYS and swapping notes - despairing and laugh-ing - you might know how that goes… ;)

and then we got onto the sub-ject of how to ask the universe for what you want, hold it in your heart and let it go...

just let it go… and turn your fo-cus to other things.

Often in life we want something so much that we are clinging to it, almost strangling the life force out of it and it doesn't happen.

We are so desperate that some-thing happens we don't let it go to give it the space and the chance to materialise.

Perhaps in that everything is en-ergy, our energy somehow starts to repel it.

So during the conversation, my friend shares that she was speaking to a workshop coordi-nator, who says (cue Australian accent): 'That's easy, Love, you need a Manager'' and introduces me to the world of Managers:

Imagine you have a Manager.

And the Manager has a whole team underneath them.

Your Manager is the most EFFI-CIENT Manager ever. They are here only to serve you and bring you everything your heart de-sires. That's their purpose in ex-istence. So when you ask for something from your Manager, it is as good as done. And the key thing here is KNOWING it's be-ing done. Total FAITH. That's instrumental.

As soon as you've asked them for it, they will go off and talk to their people... who talk to their people… and sort it out for you.

You don't need to know the time frame, you just need to know it is being DONE, because there is a team of people making it hap-pen.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR HEART, LET IT GO & GIVE THE UNIVERSE SPACE TO PROVIDE IT…

I'm not saying you don't have to make your own opportuni-ties and fortune, you do, but this is to get away from fixat-ing or obsessing over things. I have spoken to many women who find it hard to let go and not to obsess - let's take the guys thing - (sorry guys) - but the 'why hasn't he called/txted/sent me flowers/generally worshipped me and massaged my Ego… what's his problem..?'… sce-nario...

Now, to drop the obsession and the needing, just call in your Manager, ask them to set up a date or whatever you need and turn your ener-gies back into to your creativ-ity and what you love doing. Because this is where your energies need to be. In cre-ating the life you love, you will attract all the other things you need and are right for you.

It's very beautiful the space it creates knowing and trusting that things are being done. You can try it with anything. You can know that you want something, ask the universe for it - be specific - then let it go and get on with other things.

The idea behind visualising a Manager is that you have a con-versation about it and actually start articulating specifics. This will send a clearer message than random and muddled thoughts in your head. Then during the meeting, you've delegated, so you can free up your time to cre-ate more opportunities and more of what you love. It's DONE and you will get it when the time is right for you. Remember, we don't always (usually) know what's best for us… but luckily our Managers do!!

So for example, I've been calling my Manager in at night when I go to bed and having a quick round up of the day with them (my Manager is androgynous, I can't quite bring myself to call them 'him' or 'her' - but you can customise your own Man-ager…) :D

So we have a meeting, I go through what I need taking care of (not in the Mafia sense) and I give it to them to sort out for me and I thank them for it.

And I really feel like it's under control. The next day I thank them a few times for doing it be-cause I feel genuinely relieved that somebody's taking care of it for me.

And by the way, my Manager ROCKS - literally everything I've been asking them to sort out has been materialising - I mean, I haven't been asking for crazy things, but just practising and play-ing with knowing what I want or need to happen and LETTING IT GO, which I feel is the most impor-tant part. That and the faith. The KNOWING it's already happened.

So, okay, now you're all thinking I'm completely, certifiably barking, try it tonight. It's actually a really nice way to end the day.

For a couple of years now I have been ending the day with a little closure meditation and giving thanks for everything that I have & everything that happened in the day, recognising all the beautiful things in my life - and funnily enough, scheduling a short meet-ing just beforehand ties in quite well because it leads into the thanks really nicely.

I've even got a special book by my bed that I record notes / jobs for my Manager in.

OK put the kettle on - it's time for a meeting!!!
