Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to all the parents who were able to respond to the Tell Them

GALA DAY Friday 30
th November
Notes for Gala Day went out yesterday. Please make sure rides/slushies and fairy floss are paid for each child separately not as a family. Each student will have received their own note yesterday. If paying online for Gala Day, please see back of Newsletter for the online payment slip. DONATIONS Any new /unused products such as gift packs or body products or any vouchers you can organise would be most welcome to help make the chocolate wheel a success. LEAVERS If you are moving next year, please notify the front office in writing. We need to sort out classes and staffing for next year and we need accurate data. Thank you. SRC PANCAKE DAY Tuesday 30
th October
Thank you to the families who have supported the SRC Pancake Day and the P & C loose change drive. We are fundraising so that we can upgrade our WI-FI across the school. This was a mammoth effort for all involved. Thank you for your support.
SOFT TOYS We are collecting any soft toys in good condition that your children have outgrown. These are needed for Gala Day. Please leave them at the front office. If you could check with relatives, Grandparents and friends to see what you can collect, that would be wonderful. Thank you! BUS TRAVEL: All but one child had their opal card this week. We don’t want to lose this service. All students need either a school OPAL card or an OPAL card to be allowed on the bus. Busways have asked all parents who have children catching the buses to remind them that they must remember to tap on at the beginning of their trip and tap off again at the end of the trip. KINDERGARTEN 2019 If you or someone you know has a child who is eligible for Kindergarten in 2019, please enrol as soon as possible. Enrolments are open and plans are underway for our Orientation sessions.

SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS for 2020 from Yr 5 Closing date for applications is 11th November 2018. All applications must be submitted online. The information booklets are available at the front office or can be downloaded from the DoE site.
2019 PREFECTS Students who have not had significant blue slips have submitted their names as nominated candidates for a prefect in 2019. These candidates are busy writing and practising their speeches. Students from Year 2 to Year 6 vote for the best candidates to make up the 2019 prefect team of ten student leaders. HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION TIMES Make sure you check the High School notes. Several of the High Schools are providing extra transition sessions so that students are familiar with their new setting. The main transition date is set out as Tuesday 4th December.
CODE OF CONDUCT for parents.
Under the code of conduct for parents, no parent is to approach another student for any reason. Any concerns need to be taken to the executive staff to solve. Parents who raise their voices, use inappropriate language or approach a child other than their own may be issued with an “Inclosed Lands Act” and will be prevented from entering the school grounds. Do not approach another family to sort out a child’s incident. You can easily make an appointment with Mrs Douglass or myself to explain any of your concerns. We will then follow these up and resolve any problems.
