You can access your gradebook by following these steps:
1. Sign on to Blackboard. See Logging on to Blackboard.
2. On the left hand side, under the heading User Tools, click View Grades. 3. A list of courses you are currently enrolled in appears. 4. Click the name of the course for which you want to check grades. 5. A list of all course activities appears.
For some course activities, no grade may be available yet. 6. At the bottom of the list, you will see a Total and a Weighted Total. Normally, the
Weighted Total will show you your current standing in the course. Check with your instructor if you have any questions about your grades.
Some grades may not show a number, but an exclamation mark (!) instead. The exclamation mark indicates that you have completed the course activity, but that your instructor has not yet reviewed your work and assigned a grade.
SUBMITTING WORK There are two ways in which you can submit assignments to an instructor. Depending on the instructor, you may have to use assignment items or the digital drop box.
ASSIGNMENTS
Assignment items can be identified by the “View/Complete Assignment” link that follows the instructions. If your instructor has provided this type of assignment, submit your work as follows:
1. Click the View/Complete Assignment link. 2. Using the Browse… button, navigate to the file to be submitted on your local computer. 3. Select the file on your computer. 4. If required, you can also provide comments for your instructor to review. 5. When you are ready to submit your assignment, click the Submit button.
Clicking the Save button will allow you to go back to your assignment later. However, your instructor will not be able to see your submission until you use the Submit button.
Once your assignment is submitted, you will not be able to go back later and change your submission. You will be able to see your grade once your instructor has reviewed and graded your work.
DIGITAL DROP BOX
The Digital Drop Box is another way to submit files to your instructor. If your instructor requires you to submit work using the Digital Drop Box, you will generally follow these steps:

1. Log on to Blackboard and access the course. 2. On the left hand navigation menu, under the Tools heading, click the Course Tools link. 3. On the page that appears, Digital Drop Box will be listed as an option. Click the Digital
Drop Box link. 4. Use the Browse… button to select the file to be submitted from your local computer. 5. Click Submit.
TAKING A TEST
Some classes may require you to use the Remote Proctor device during tests. The use of this device is not covered by this guide.
Tests are generally only available for a specified time period. To take an exam or quiz using Blackboard, follow these steps:
1. During the time period assigned by your instructor, access the Blackboard course. 2. Your instructor will let you know in which area of the course the quiz or exam will be
available. Access that area using the navigation menu on the left. 3. The test will be listed, possibly among other items. 4. Click on the link to start the test. 5. Read any instructions the instructor has provided. 6. When you are finished answering the questions, click the Submit button. 7. Once the test has been submitted you will not be able to go back and change answers.
GETTING MORE HELP If you need help while using Blackboard, click the Need Help? image at the top right of any Blackboard page.
