the distinguished air of Edwardian elegance.
Mahogany marquetry creates a luxurious
setting and a warm glow in the cabins, of which there
are 14 twin, two double and four single, each with an
en-suite shower room, a desk and wardrobe, and a
generous window from which to admire those
mesmerising views. You are also assured a good
night’s sleep: not only are the beds wonderfully
comfortable, the train stables each night in a quiet
siding or station.

This multi-turreted, 16th-century castle beside
the River Spey is also a family home to the
Macpherson-Grants, who have lived here
since 1546. As well as a fne collection of
17th-century paintings, it has wonderful gardens,
an exceptional nine-hole golf course and a
newly opened “single estate” distillery,
which is the frst of its kind in Scotland.
T H E C A I R N G O R M S
The National Park is home to Britain’s highest
mountain range, ancient Caledonian pine forests
and crystal-clear rivers and lochs. At its heart
is the Rothiemurchus Estate, a breathtaking
setting for country pursuits such as clay-pigeon
shooting, hill walking, fshing and spotting birds,
including the eagerly awaited osprey in summer.
F O U L I S C A S T L E
Seat of the Clan Munro for more than 700 years,
this imposing Georgian mansion (a replacement
for the original castle razed by the Jacobites)
is set within stunning grounds overlooking the
Cromarty Firth. Highlights include a display of
clan tartans and memorabilia, an early Victorian
kitchen and a spectacular courtyard garden.

Renowned as one of Britain’s most haunted castles,
the ancestral seat of the Earls of Strathmore was
the childhood home of The Queen Mother. See
the opulent Dining Room and Great Hall, private
chapel and nature trail, where you can spot
red squirrels, herons and roe deer.
Escape to the great outdoors where swathes of pine forest meet mighty rivers and
captivating ruins are mirrored in pristine lochs. Scotland’s rich history is refected in

One of the oldest and most picturesque working
distilleries in the Highlands, this is where the
famous Chivas Regal whisky is crafted. Little has
changed since its founding in 1786, from the old
cobbled courtyard to the distinctive “pagodas”.
G L E N F I N N A N
This beautiful village at the northern end of
Loch Shiel is famous for its magnifcent railway
viaduct, a vision of 21 towering arches, which
may be familiar from the Harry Potter flms. It
is also where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his
standard at the beginning of the Jacobite Rising.
K Y L E O F L O C H A L S H
Reached by one of Britain’s most scenic routes,
this is the gateway to the Isle of Skye. The journey
there is an exhilarating ride past the Torridon
Mountains, along pretty Loch Carron to Plockton,
whose nearby waters are home to wild seals.
E D I N B U R G H
Dominated by its hilltop castle, the Scottish
capital blends historic landmarks, including
Mary, Queen of Scot’s former hideout, the Palace
of Holyroodhouse, with contemporary attractions
such as Michelin-starred restaurants, rooftop
bars and world-famous festivals.

In the afternoon, explore the
ancient walled city of York,

or National Railway Museum,

travel insurance is vital. Details of a policy suitable

provide fnancial security for fight-inclusive
Packages (a “Package” exists if you book a
pre-arranged combination of at least two of the
following components when sold or offered for
sale at an inclusive price and when the service
covers a period of more than 24 hours or includes
overnight accommodation: (a) transport; (b)
accommodation; (c) other tourist services not
ancillary to transport or accommodation and
accounting for a signifcant proportion of the
Package) and ATOL protected fights by way of a
bond held by the Civil Aviation Authority under
ATOL number 3141.
Your Financial Protection: when you buy an
ATOL protected fight or fight inclusive holiday
from us you will receive an ATOL Certifcate. This
lists what is fnancially protected, where you can
get information on what this means for you and
who to contact if things go wrong.
We, or the suppliers identifed on your ATOL
Certifcate, will provide you with the services listed
on the ATOL Certifcate (or a suitable alternative).
In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier
are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an
alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the
services you have bought or a suitable alternative
(at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that
in those circumstances the alternative ATOL
holder will perform those obligations and you
agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by
you under your contract to that alternative ATOL
holder. However, you also agree that in some
cases it will not be possible to appoint an
alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be
entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme
(or your credit card issuer where applicable).
If we, or the suppliers identifed on your ATOL
Certifcate, are unable to provide the services
listed (or a suitable alternative, through an
alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons
of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust
may make a payment to (or confer a beneft on)
you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in
return for such a payment or beneft you assign
absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you
have or may have arising out of or relating to the
non-provision of the services, including any claim
against us, the travel agent (or your credit card
issuer where applicable). You also agree that any
such claims may be re-assigned to another body,
if that other body has paid sums you have
claimed under the ATOL scheme.
Not all holiday or travel services offered and
sold by us will be protected by the ATOL scheme.
Protection for all Packages not including fights is
provided by means of a separate trust account in
which all monies paid to us in respect of a
Package will be held until the Package in question
has been completely performed. Non-Package
arrangements and arrangements not booked or
departing from the UK are not protected by these
arrangements.
On certain trips a minimum number of
persons is required for the tour to take place. We
will notify passengers at least 56 days before
departure if a trip is cancelled for this reason. The
applicable deposit (15% unless otherwise stated)
must be paid to us when you book (or if booking
within 56 days of departure, full payment must be
made on booking).
If there are fewer than 12 passengers in your
party, and if you have made your booking more
than 56 days before departure and have paid a
deposit to secure your booking, the balance of the
cost of your arrangements (including any
applicable surcharge) is due not less than 56
days prior to scheduled departure. If there are
12 or more passengers in your party, payments
must be made as follows: 15% of the cost of your
arrangements is payable on booking, a further
35% of such cost (including any applicable
surcharge) is due 90 days before departure
(if your booking is made between 90 and 56 days
before departure).
If your booking is made less than 56 days
before departure, you will be required to pay the
entire cost of your arrangements at the time of
your booking. If we do not receive (in cleared
funds) the balance in full and on time, we reserve
the right to treat your booking as cancelled by
you, in which case cancellation charges will
become payable. Cancellation charges apply in
the event you or any member of your party
cancels a confrmed booking. These charges will
increase the closer to your departure date that
you notify us of a cancellation.
We regret we are unable to offer you any
assistance if you are delayed at the outward or
homeward points of departure. Non-UK passport
holders, including other EU nationals, should
obtain up-to-date advice on passport and visa
requirements from the Embassy, High
Commission or Consulate of your destination or
country(ies) through which they are travelling.
We reserve the right to amend the price of
unsold trips at any time.
