SAXON WARRIOR | GOLDEN ALE | 4.2% | PINT | £4.15 GOLDEN, HOPPY, REFRESHING Saxon Warrior is inspired by Horsa, legendary Saxon warrior – leader of the first Anglo Saxon settlers in Britain. He was one of two Saxon brothers who invaded Britain and ended up ruling various counties, and Horsa chose Sussex.

And to witness the creative genius of Harry Enfield and Simon Nye, best known for their comic writing. The inspiration for Harry Enfield’s Stavros character is said to have come from the local Greek fish & chip shop owner, although it’s not documented who inspired Simon’s ‘Men Behaving Badly’. Both attended Collyer College, Horsham.

SCARFOULKES | AMBER ALE | 4.6% | PINT | £4.35 RUBY, HOPPY, CARAMELIn tribute to the Carfax. The name is likely of Norman origin – a corruption of ‘Quatre Voies’ (four ways) or ‘Carrefour’, a place where four roads meet. The Carfax was formerly known as “Scarfoulkes”, but is now fondly known as the heart of Horsham and a place to come and relax, meet with friends at a local event or listen to music.

Brewhouse & Kitchen was founded by Kris & Simon in 2013 when the craft beer enthusiasts decided to put their dream of creating a pub with a difference in to action. Each and every one of our brewpubs has its own microbrewery and brewer - and are brewing a range of keg and cask beers that are hyper-local, completely artisan, from small-batch brews, and which you won’t be able to find anywhere else! He was one of the major English Romantic poets, and is regarded by some as among the finest lyric and philosophical poets in the English language, and whose most famous poem was called Ozmandias.
