The world’s first stair lift for dogs is being trialled after research revealed a worrying rise in number of porky pooches.

It has been found that if obesity levels in dogs continue to rise at the current rate over half of all pooches will be severely overweight (52 per cent) by 2022 and unable to carry out basic tasks.

As a warning to pet owners, MORE TH>N has designed a prototype of the world’s first stair lift for dogs, a product that could become com-mon in British homes unless we change our approach to our dogs’ diets.

Holidaymakers miss cups of tea and their own bed

Mobile phones top list of top 20 most lost items

Man sawed his own foot off to avoid work

SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv

SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv

Brit holidaymakers start to miss home four days and 14 hours into their sunshine break, a study has revealed.

Researchers found a yearning for popular television shows, home cooking and the perfect cup of tea leads our thoughts drifting back to Britain.

Drinking tap water without worrying was a huge miss for 40 per cent of the survey, while one fifth missed keeping up with the news.

A dedicated one in ten Brits miss their job while on holiday and even ad-mitted sneaking a call to work while away, to catch up on news or gossip. The study of 2,200 people also showed one fifth of Brits regularly moan when abroad – with the swimming pool most likely to trigger the grumps, followed by mosquitoes, bad food and other, infuriating tourists.

More than half the study will avoid cooking in a foreign culture, while 45 per cent bring their own tea bags but still miss that ‘perfect’ cuppa.

Tellingly, more than half of Brits said they are unable to detach from their home life while away on a break.

Over a fifth of Brits make at least four calls home when on a break, while a third ring home on the first day.

Alison Tennant of the ‘Believe in Gloucester’ campaign, which commis-sioned the study, said: “We’re a nation that appreciates our home com-forts and revolve our lives around our family and having things the way we’re used to.

“It’s great to experience new cultures and surroundings and broaden our horizons, but it’s only natural to miss home and want to stay connected – there’s nothing wrong with being happy with where you live.

“It’s no surprise that the thing we miss most is the perfect cup of tea – it’s a big part of our culture and no one makes tea quite like us Brits.”

An Austrian man was reportedly so desperate to avoid going to work that he sawed his own foot off.

The unemployed 56-year-old was due to attend the labor office to check whether he was fit to return to work.

It’s been said that just before his appointment in Styria, he held his leg against a saw and severed his foot just above the ankle.

But it doesn’t end there. Before calling for an ambulance the now hopping gent threw his detatched foot into an oven.

Unsurprisingly doctors were unable to reattach the foot.

British adults will misplace an in-credible 198,743 items in their life-time, it has been revealed.

Research revealed the average Brit will lose up to NINE items every day, some brief-ly, with car keys, house keys, mobile phones and pa-perwork vanishing most regularly.

The findings emerged in a study of 3,000 adults, which also revealed ten minutes a day is spent searching for items such as sunglasses, wallets and phones.

Furthermore the study found men are far worse at losing things than women – with a third of wives claiming their husband regularly misplaces household items.

Nikki Sellers, of esure, which conducted the research, said: “Most Brits blame their bad luck or a hectic lifestyle for constantly misplacing items or even losing them completely.“Homeowners should be extra cautious when it comes to looking after their house keys – as this could prove to be costly if they were to fall into the hands of opportunistic thieves.”

The daily loss calculated over a year means an incredible 3,285 items are misplaced every 12 months – or just under 200,000 bits and bobs over the course of 60.5 adult years.

And a total of 3,680 hours or 153 days is spent searching for stuff, over our lifetimes.

London Zoo penguins get an Olympic diving board

Men wear clothes chosen for them by their wife

SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv

SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv SOURCE: NEwSlitE.tv

Twelve million men are sat at their desks this morning wearing something which was chosen for them by their wife or partner, it has been found.

Researchers have found two thirds of blokes rely on their partners to pick out clothing such as a tie, shirt, shoes or even suit, with many blaming their lack of confidence in the style stakes.

It also emerged half of men were physically ‘dressed’ by the significant other this morning in the shape of a helping hand doing up their tie, or inserting collar stiffeners and cuff links.

A spokesman for StylePilot.com said: “Many men want to be better dressed, but lack style knowledge and confidence.

“That’s why millions of men are relying on other women in their lives – particularly their wives or partners – to help choose what to wear to work so they look good not just at work but for other occasions.”The study quizzed 1,000 men in full time employment between 18 and 60 years of age on their attitudes towards their fashion sense and con-fidence with their style.

It found one in six men have a helping hand to pick out what to wear every day of the week, while the majority said clothes are laid out in front of them on at least four days.

And they are most likely to receive help on a Monday morning.

A quarter said they’re most likely to struggle choosing what to don for parties, while one in five struggle with choosing the right attire for meet-ings and one in six said work.

It also emerged half of blokes get fashion tips from their wife or girlfriend, three in ten get told what to wear or even have clothes bought them by their mum and one in six have their mother-in-law to thank.

As Olympic fever hits the the UK even the penguins at London Zoo are apparently getting in in on the act… after getting their very own diving board installed.

The diving board was installed to celebrate ZSL London Zoo being awarded LOCOG’s Inspired by 2012 mark for its summer Animal Athletes programme.

As such the colony of 64 penguins can now practice their spectacu-lar diving skills and keepers say they have already perfected their penguin-stroke and mastered the flipper-crawl.

Head Bird keeper, Adrian Walls said: “The penguins love nothing more than to show off their diving skills and really play up to the audiences. I think they love having their very own diving board.“We’ve installed it at the deepest point of their pool, right above the underwater viewing areas, so we should be able to see them giving Tom Daly a run for his money.”

The daily penguin feed is a time-honoured tradition at the Zoo, and Penguin Beach Live! is the Zoo’s newest and most popular yet.

With newly increased stadium seating to ensure each visitor gets a prime spot, the daily demonstration gives the penguins the chance to show off their impressive skills as they dive and leap to fetch their fishy meals.

Hmmm. What kind of useless information can I provide you with this time? Some actual useful information is De Hooi will be having it’s, I guess it’s already our 5th an-niversary coming in the beginning of May. How they grow up so fast. As usual there will be free beer, live music, sexy danc-ers and probably some other cool things. Haven’t decided on the exact day yet but I’ll let you know.Went and played golf with the Dogs on Saturday. Woo, what a day. It rained most of the day and I found out I can’t golf very good but I’m still a good drinker and getting sideways in the golf cart was fun.

Why do ostriches bury their heads in the sand? They actually don’t. In a study of 200,000 ostriches over a period of eighty years, no one reported a single case where an ostrich buried its head in the sand (or attempted to do so).A South Korean movie theater owner decided that the movie The Sound of Music was too long. His solution? He shortened the movie by cutting out all of the musical scenes!

The Malaysian government decided to solve their disease-carrying mosquito problem by spraying the infested areas with DDT. This worked, but the cockroaches then devoured the dead mosquitos. This was followed by the region’s gecko lizards consuming the roaches. The geckos did not die from the residual poison (surprisingly), but their central nervous systems were greatly affected, causing the lizards to slow down. Moving up the food chain, the cats ate the slow-moving lizards and started to die off in large quantities. Of course, fewer cats means more rats, and the country’s rat population soared. As a result, the World Health Organization was forced to step in and ban the DDT. In an effort to restore the ecological balance, they flew in planeloads of cats to kill the rats.

Did you ever wonder what the WD in WD-40 stands for? The name was lifted right out chemist Norm Larsen’s laboratory notebook. Way back in 1953, he was trying to concoct an anti-corrosion formula, which worked on the basic principle of displacing water. On his 40th try, Larsen finally got it right. Hence the name WD-40. It literally means Water Displacer, 40th try.Marijuana was not illegal in the United States until October 1, 1937, when Congress passed the “Marijuana Tax Act”. Total debate time on the House of Representatives floor concerning this issue: 90 seconds. This act did not actually ban the substance - it simply said that one could not sell marijuana without a license. Of course, Congress refused to issue any licenses. Congress finally banned marijuana outright in 1970.

Everyone knows that spinach is loaded in iron and makes you stronger - Just look what it has done for Popeye’s career. Well, Pop-eye was wrong. So were all of those parents that stuffed it down their kids’ throats. In reality, spinach has no more iron in it than any other vegetable. This spinach misconception dates back to the 1950’s when a food analyst made an error while calculating the iron in spinach. His decimal place was off by one place, suggesting that spinach had ten times as much iron content than it really did.

Thanks for making De Hooi Southern Jakarta’s favorite beer joint.

Cheers,
