Why Puma EnergyTruly global operationTo date, we have assisted several countries in sourcing and supplying their bitumen demand via our state-of-the-art fleet of bespoke insulated bitumen carriers and our terminals. Today we own and operate the largest private bitumen terminal in Europe (Cadiz, Spain) and the largest bitumen terminal in South East Asia (Langsat, Malaysia).
Superior logisticsOur customers benefit from fully integrated logistics services from our terminals, to our vessels and containers. We leverage our superior logistics and supply synergies to ensure that the bitumen is delivered when it is required. We can supply bitumen around the globe and deliver where it is needed, ensuring our customers get their supply on time and on specification.
Experienced personnel with local knowledgeWe continue to grow our business by selectively acquiring, investing in and developing our assets, capabilities and people. Quality productsPuma Energy meets local regulations and exceed them where appropriate. Our global bitumen terminal network offers a range of products meeting international specifications of penetration, viscosity and performance grades, together with the most advanced formulations of emulsions and polymer modified bitumens.
Ongoing testingPuma Energy follows strict Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) policy and procedures. We source our products from highly reliable refineries on five continents; North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Products are tested at loading ports by independent laboratories. Additional quality checks are performed in our own terminals.
Investing in systemsWe recently made significant investments in our systems. Our Terminal Management System (TMS) provides greater control over truck and driver access and monitors the flow of product in our terminals ensuring limitation of losses.

Our products and servicesBitumenPuma Energy is fully equipped to provide to road construction companies all grades of bitumen they require for their specific projects. We import bitumen, which complies with regional standards, into countries and regions via container ships or bulk terminals, and distribute it using heated bitu-containers and bulk trucks.
EmulsionWe have rapidly introduced emulsion-manufacturing units across many of our bitumen facilities. We manufacture emulsions for all different applications in road pavement and maintenance: prime coating, tack coating, surface dressing. Advantages of emulsions include cold application of binders, it’s more environmentally friendly, safer with no risk of fire and no toxic fumes. It lends itself to easy application, which helps open up road construction businesses to smaller players.

Shipping and distributionWith a unique and integrated asset base, which encompasses both offshore and onshore operations, we can focus on the best end-to-end services for delivering competitive advantage.
Where import storage terminals are available to accommodate our 15,000dwt and 30,000dwt vessels, we will use them, and where they are not, we will bring our expertise and global bitumen professionals to assist in their construction and operation or in providing alternative logistical solutions
Our shipping capabilitiesThe safety of our fleet and cargoes is of utmost importance to us. We invest significantly in buying and chartering high quality vessels to deliver bitumen reliably. Our fleet is the most modern in the bitumen industry.
Independent self-supporting cargo tanksOur cargo tanks are built independently from the vessel structure, in line with the latest technology available in the market. This type of construction drastically reduces heat transmission to the hull structure. As a result, our vessels are able to load and maintain cargo temperatures of up to 250°C, with levels of energy efficiency never seen before.
Vessel class notation, Imo type 2 (chemical)We are able to carry chemical products including coal tar pitch, creosote and coal tar naphtha solvent, next to bitumen and fuel oils. Because we are certified to transport chemicals with severe environmental and safety hazards, our fleet complies to significant safety measures and construction standards.
Cargo systemOur cargo system is equipped with the latest safety features, and it works at pressures that are almost double those that are the standard of today’s industry. Our fleet is able to discharge a full cargo in less than 24 hours with pumping rates ranging from 500 to 2,000 cubic metres per hour.
Crew and managementOur ship managers are specialised in bitumen ships and have a long track record in the industry. Our experienced crews receive continuous training in accordance with the highest international standards. Their rotation between our ships means that they are completely familiar with our fleet.

We are committed to issues of Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) and this underpins everything we do. This plays out in our continuing investment in our infrastructure and in the careful selection, training and development of our teams. We take a long-term view that doing what we do in the right way is best for us, best for our customers and best for the communities where we work.
■ Puma Energy strives to operate in line with international best practice, even where that exceeds local expectations. We apply the same strict health, safety and environmental standards across all our bitumen operations around the world – from manufacturing right through to distribution and delivery.
■ We are engaged with our communities so we meet with local groups and build strong productive relationships with stakeholders. We also procure local goods and services and employ local people, wherever this is appropriate and viable.
Puma Energy FoundationIn partnership with the Puma Energy Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Puma Energy, we support investment in four areas across our markets. These are: economic development, health and safety, the environment, our people and the communities where we work. We regularly review the progress of our corporate activities within these four areas and aim to report on performance transparently every year.
Day after day we strive to operate in line with international best practice.
