Bituflex Protective Bitumen Sealer Description Bituflex is a water-based and stable bitumen emulsify in dark brown colour and dries to a black flexible coating. When dry, it is waterproof and will not re-emulsify in water and it is odourless and taint free. Bituflex suitable for indoor floor, wall damp-proofing and general waterproof coating. It is also used as protective coating on surfaces such as concrete, logs, cement rendering, metal, etc. The end coating of logs and sawn timber can prevent end splitting. Its protective coating can seal up cool storage rooms from vapour emission and air-conditioning ducting insulation. Uses It provides a seamless finish and better water and vapour proof onto all types of concrete and masonry surfaces. It can be used as a concealed waterproofing application: • New R.C Roof & Re-proofing • Basements slab and wall • Ground water insulation / Wet rooms • Foundation / Bridge abutment or pier • Damp proof sandwich membrane in concrete
floors • Vapour barrier to cladding panels • Retaining wall and tunnel

Application Instructions Surface Preparation Surface shall be free of dust, grease and pre-wet with water before application. All grooves, voids and honeycombs should be patched before the application of Bituflex. Bituflex can be applied on damp surface with no standing water. Application Method Apply one coat of Bituflex by brush, roller or spray without dilution. Nominal thickness to achieve is approximately 0.6mm. Allow it to air dry for about 4 hours depending on substrate porosity and weather condition. Second coat can be applied after 4 hours. 2 – 3 coats are recommended for better protection. 48 hours are required for fully dry for further cementitious application on the coating. Protection/Curing Under indoor condition at room temperature of 30oC, a thin wet coating layer should dry in about 4 hours. Precaution should be taken during its drying time. It should protect from direct rain, dirt, oil grease or either loose material. The contractor should also take precautions to protect the Bituflex membrane from any mechanical damage during the construction of other trade of works. Cleaning of Tools All tool and application equipment should be clean immediately with water after use and hardener and cured material need to force by mechanically to remove it and use kerosene or solvent when dry.

Storage All products have a shelf life of 12 months if stored in original unopened packaging. Store in original unopened packaging, cool dry conditions and away from sources of heat & flames. This material is subjected to damage by frost and should be stored at temperature between 5oC to 40oC. Precaution Bituflex should not be swallowed or in contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective gloves and goggles. Splashes on the skin should be removed with water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.
