1st Time Logon
There are computer kiosks in the Business School area and in the computer laboratories where you can log on using a “guest” account.
Guest Username: bizguest Guest Password: guest
This account has minimal rights and is only to be used for Account Activations/Reissuing Passwords.

STEP 1- Activate Pheme Account
Pheme: https://www.pheme.uwa.edu.au/ This account allows students to access the main student Googlemail and StudentConnect services. You will also need this to access the Internet from the Business School computer laboratories. If you already have Pheme activated, jump to Step 2 – Activate your Business School Account. For your Record - Pheme account details Pheme Username: ________________ Pheme Password: ________________
Your Pheme account is your main UWA account. If you have any issues with this account, please contact the SISO Helpdesk on 6488 3814. Please keep this guide book in a safe place and do not expose/share your username or password to anyone or you will risk your account being suspended.
STEP 2 – Activate Business School Account*
BIZ: http://www.business.uwa.edu.au/studentnet/it-help/compaccess/activate This account allows students to access the Business School computers and quota-based printing services in the computer laboratories. For your Record - BIZ account details: BIZ Username: ________________ BIZ Password: ________________ * All PhD students MUST see their administrative support team to activate their special staff account.
Please keep this guide book in a safe place and do not expose/share your username or password to anyone or you will risk your account being suspended.

Forgotten your Business School password? If you forget your BIZ password, you can reset it by following the procedure shown below. You can reset the password ONLY once every hour. 1. Use a computer Kiosks in the computer laboratory or student centre 2. Go to http://www.business.uwa.edu.au/studentnet/it-help/reissuepwd 3. Fill in your student number, date of birth and campus card bar code number
4. Click 5. Check your UWA Webmail http://webmail.uwa.edu.au 6. You will receive an email from BITS Administrator with your “temporary” password 7. Go to http://www.business.uwa.edu.au/studentnet/it-help/password 8. Type in your username and the “temporary” password 9. Select the option as shown below
10. Type in a new password 11. Confirm the new password (Re-type your new password)

Print Quota Print quota is based on the units you’re enrolled in per teaching period. The allocations are as follows:

* a quota is allocated to ensure printing services are not abused. Extra quota will be allocated when it is required for a demonstrable printing need.
Quota and quota usage are cleared at the end of each year.
If you withdraw from a unit or enrol in a new unit, you will need to update print quotas. If you withdraw from a unit your quotas may decrease without notice, so please be aware of your updated quota by using this service. Additional print quota
If the quota for the semester has been used up, students can purchase additional print quota.
1. Visit the library or any venue (Guild Café etc) that has a top up machine to add credit to your student card
2. Add $10 or $20 to your card (Minimum $10 gives you 91 pages) 3. Visit Helpdesk to credit your student card with your new print quota
Printing documents
To print a document (pdf, Word, Excel etc), first SAVE THE DOCUMENT LOCALLY TO THE COMPUTER or H: Drive. Then OPEN AND PRINT. Printing documents directly off a website (including WebCT) is likely to result in unsuccessful printing with your quota deducted, which is NON REFUNDABLE.
Collecting your printed documents
All printing can be collected in the Ground Floor G80 – Student Common Room

Printing issues with PDF documents
Symptom: PDF documents won’t print Note: Only use this method to print documents with 10 or less pages. Anything more than 10 pages may hold up the print queue for other users.
1. Click File -> Print
2. Click on the Print screen
3. On the Advanced Print Setup
page, tick Print As Image
You can adjust the resolution:
• 150dpi – lower quality • 300dpi – standard • 400dpi – better for picture

Internet Access To access the Internet from the Business School computer laboratories, you need to have your full service Pheme* account activated. Please contact SISO on 6488 3814 if you have any queries related to Internet traffic quota. Activate Full Pheme account
1) Login to MyUWA 2) In the 'Manage your account' section, click “Change Internet Access” 3) You need agree to the Terms and Conditions for Student Full Internet Access.

COMPUTER LABORATORIES
Student Computer Laboratories The Business School has a total of 4 computer laboratories which students may utilise when there are no classes in session. Please check on the computer laboratory timetable which should be displayed outside the room. The computer laboratories are opened as shown below with the exception of the Christmas Holiday lock-down period and term break. #The Postgraduate Resource Room is STRICTLY for the use of postgraduate students only. Undergraduate/Honor students who log in to PCs in the Postgraduate Resource Room may have their account suspended!

File Storage
BITS provide file storage on the H: Network drive for students. Any files saved on the desktop or in any other directory will be cleared when you log off. Maximum storage quota on H drive: 200MB
Save all your documents on the H: drive or they will be lost …..forever!
Webspace
Your online space will be available while you are enrolled - you can access it in two ways:
1. In the computer labs, save/copy your webpages to the W: drive.
2. From within Internet Explorer as
ftp://[email protected]/public_html * username is your Bizstudent username.

Software Licensing
Student MUST apply for the license for home use via the ITS website which is listed in the Software Matrix table on the next page. Software licensing for student’s personal use is limited to the following:
• Endnote • SAS • Sophos • Mathematica (Student use of Mathematica is restricted to currently enrolled students

Configuring Student Email in Outlook 2003
Pre-Req: Student must login to enable iMAP features in GoogleApp in UWA email
1. Login to MyUWA and click MyMail 2. Enable iMAP in your email account. Click Save Changes when you're done. 3. Open Outlook. 4. Click the Tools menu, and select E-mail Accounts... 5. Click Add a new e-mail account, and click Next. 6. Choose iMAP as your server type and click Next. 7. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:

User Information Your Name Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From field of outgoing messages. Email Address Enter your full email address ([email protected])

Outgoing Server (SMTP), enter 587 in Outgoing SMTP server and use TLS as encryption connection.
12. Click OK. 13. Click Test Account Settings... After receiving Congratulations! All tests completed
successfully, click Close. 14. Click Next, and then click Finish.
