He traveled between West Virginia and North Carolina pastoring both churches from 1991-1996. In 1996, a new pastor was installed at the church in Westover, WV as Bishop focused his pastoral gift at the headquarters church in Greensboro. Now as Bishop and Overseer of the Power House of Deliverance Churches, he also sits on the Board of Directors for the Joint College of African- American Pentecostal Bishops’ Congress under the directives of Metropolitan, Bishop J. Delano Ellis II. On March 14, 2004, he received his Doctor of Divinity Degree in Rome Italy, while at the Cathedral of Santa Susanna. His weekly radio and television broadcast, “Hour of Deliverance,” reaches many throughout the Triad area, delivering a powerful, uncompromising, and rich Word from the Lord. Now, as he propels into his next level of ministry, Bishop Washington can add Execu- tive Record Producer and published Author to his credentials. Bishop Washington and the Power House of Deliverance Cathedral Choir released their debut album, “The Christ Factor,” on August 8, 2008. This CD is full of uplifting messages, Gospel enriched lyrics, and melodies of praise likened unto angels. Bishop’s ministry reaches back to 1968, which began on the sawdust trails of tent crusades, street preaching, door-to-door witnessing, workshops, revivals, conferences, prison ministries, youth ministries, and evangelism to win the lost at all cost. He was ordained to the office of Bishop on August 17, 1985. He was National Youth President of the Power House of Deliverance Churches for 23 years and cofounded “Youth on the Move for Christ,” an interdenominational youth organization, along with Dr. L. Ramona Howard. They led this organization from March 1973 to August 1986, and through it Bishop was able to inspire and encourage youth all over the world with his great testimony of the love of Jesus Christ. Today, Bishop still “walks in his gift” of reaching out to the youth by giving them words of wisdom. His love and support is greatly felt by all. Bishop William L. God is constantly working and moving in Bishop Washington’s life, as he continues with an eye single unto the Lord. Until HIS imminent return, Bishop W. L. Bishop W. L. Washington & the Power House of Deliverance Cathedral Choir power their way onto the gospel scene with their debut album, “The Christ Factor!”

Greensboro, NC – August 1, 2008 Bishop W. L. Washington & the Power House of Deliverance Cathedral Choir is set to release their debut project, “The Christ Factor.” This long awaited project will be available for purchase on August 8, 2008. Album MP3’s are now available on most of the major digital online stores.

Bishop W. L. Washington, Presiding Prelate of the Power House of Deliverance Churches International and Senior Pastor of the Power House of Deliverance Garden Cathedral in Greensboro, NC, is a 21st Century Father of the Gospel. He has a remarkable ministry that stretches back over 40 years. Bishop Washington is best known for his dynamic and power-packed messages that have been heard all over the world. It was his message about realizing the Christ within you, which is the hope of glory that inspired this musical masterpiece. This former Praise & Worship leader for the J.H. Covington Crusade had no trouble returning to his musical roots by lending a lead vocal on “Because He Lives” arranged by Min. Trini Massie, Minister of Worship at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, PA.

The PHD Cathedral Choir has become one of the most sought after choirs in the Triad. Under the direction of their Minister of Music, Kevin Cummings, this 40-member choir has ministered for the likes of Kim Burrell, Pastor Nancy Wilson, LeJuene Thompson, and Pastor Shirley Caesar. Kevin is no novice to the gospel industry. As CEO of Dream City Music Group, he has spent over 15 years establishing himself as one of the most versatile writers and producers in the business. Kevin’s innate ability to fuse different styles of music together to create a unique sound has earned him respect from both gospel and secular artists. His lyrical genius is illuminated on the anointing filled tracks “If I Suffer” and “I’ll Praise.”

“The Christ Factor” is an all-inclusive voyage through the kingdom. This 19-track CD unfolds like a well-structured story. The first single, “Holiness,” is a sweet mix of smooth grooving and choral belting that satisfies the needs of all gospel music fans. The blaring brass intro on the Mo’ Horns collaboration, “I Can Do It,” is a great compliment to this high-energy track. “Jeremiah 29:11,” submitted by Min. John Paul McGee, promises to be a choir favorite with it’s commanding presence that is as reassuring as the scripture itself. “The Blood” is probably the most memorable and moving track on the entire project. It is a tribute of gratitude to God for His act of love that was portrayed when He allowed his blood to be shed so that we might be saved. This project is sure to be a top seller.
