INTRODUCTION
Communication involves all aspects of our personal and professional lives. It is the
key to having positive instructions and to building and maintaining favorable relationships.
The ability to communicate and to have that message understood is vital in today’s world.
Business must have effective internal and external communication in order to succeed. An
internal operation depends on the day-to-day exchange of information among employees.
Besides that, external communication to builds goodwill, bring in orders, and contributes to
the continued existence and growth of the business. Both wired and wireless communication
devices are important for business operations. Advance in computer software and mobile
technology bring new way of communicating as well as opportunities for streamlining
management task and collaborative options. Major technologies trends affecting business
communication after a wide variety of choices for individual and organizational purposes.
Culture diversity in the workplace environment includes employees and customers who
represent a wide range of needs, interest, abilities and cultural backgrounds. If cultural
diversity is not understood and valued, misunderstandings may occur that negatively affect
organizational success. By using your voice effectively can improve the oral communication.
The important characteristics of voice quality are pitch, volume, speed, tone, emphasis,
enunciation and pronunciation. It can be improved by using tape or voice recorder for the
self-analysis or by obtaining feedback from your family member, a friend or others.
CONTENT
Diversity is an understanding that each individual is unique and recognizing other individual differences of culture, background, experience among individuals. It’s such as differences of race, ethnicity, gender, age and physical challenge. Cultural diversity is the quality of diverse or different cultures. If cultural diversity is not understood and valued, misunderstanding may occur that negatively affect organizational success. Cultural background affects how individual view, what they value and how they interact with others. The core culture dimension that we choose in our report is age diversity. Age diversity is a individuals ages and life stages affect how they perceive the world around them and what they value. It’s also affected how other perceive them. Our report shows the differences of understanding among kindergarten students and university students. Although age ranges vary for kindergarten students and universities students and among different culture, these life stages indicate differing interests and needs. Besides that, message content that specifically mentions student’s age or age-related problems have a negative connotation and could be offensive the receivers. Then, the message could be receive clearly to the receivers.
CONCLUSION
Communication is the most important thing in our daily life. Even animals also communicate each other in their own ways. Communications nowadays involve so many Medias such as internet, television, radios and so forth. In communication environment, there are so many things to concern about such as the language that we use, the message we want to give and so many more. As communications have been throughout the world without limitation, we should take the opportunity to learn more about communication environment. It is not only using for in our daily lives but also to improve our communication skills.
