You will be designing a book jacket for a recent book you have already read. In other words, you will create a new and improved cover for it! Your project should be unique, creative, and neat!

Your book jacket must include the following components (see rubric): Front Cover

title author illustration

Spine title author

Back Cover In paragraph form write a review about the book. Story Elements (Main Character(s), Setting, Problem,

Solution, and at least 3 events) Include 3 of your thoughts about the book or that you had as

you were reading Your name

Consider adding other creative touches to make your project look authentic (for example: quotes from others about the book, awards given to the book, interesting drawings…)

1. Draft your project on the paper provided. Use the lines to guide you in organizing your work on the front, spine, and back cover.

2. Revise and edit your work carefully.

3. Use plain white paper for your final copy or template. Follow the directions given video.

4. You may use the computer for your writing/pictures.

5. Do all work in pencil first to allow for corrections on your final copy. When you are sure your work is correct, use colored pencils to color your project. Remember how bright and attractive book covers usually are.

6. Be sure that your work is neatly done and have fun!

**The final copy of your books jacket is due on _______October 16, 2015______
