HIMALAYAN ADVENTURE CAMP BIR, BAIJNATH, BILLING & DHARAMSHALA. The programme at Bir is specially develop for the adventure loving youngsters who had been to different parts of the Himalayas but missed the most beautiful part of it. Bir, surrounded by tea gardens and an amphitheatre of low hills, is an ideal landing ground for para-gliders. Billing, up in the hills 14 km from Bir with an arena of 200 km for high altitude and cross country flying, is one of the best aero sports sites in the country. This site is regarded as among the best in the world for Paragliding. Billing (2290 m) is the take-off site and Bir (1400 m) is the village at the landing site. The road distance between the two is 14 km. Bir is sheltered by the Dhauladhar mountains and the ridges behind keep rising to 3000 mtrs, 4000 mtrs, 5000 mtrs and one after the other so as pilot can fly at 4000 mtrs and still watch the mountains tower above. Bir is a beautiful village surrounded by tea gardens and spectacular scenery, whereas Billing offers unique opportunities for high altitude and cross country flying and flights of 180 kms have been achieved from here. The Baijnath Temple is located 16 km from Palampur in the Beas valley and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shiva is worshipped here as Vaidyanath or the Lord of Physician. The temple has lent its name to town as well which earlier was known as Kiragrama. ACTIVITIES: Trekking, rock climbing, Tyrolean traverse, Para gliding (OPTIONAL), camp fire, visit to Baijnath Temple & Dharamshala, Tea garden etc. ACCOMMODATION: Tent separate for girls & boys. Separate constructed Toilets and bathrooms. FOOD: Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food will be served thrice a day. ELIGIBILITY: For students of age group 11 – 22 years only. BATCH DATE: 1. 29/04/15 TO 06/05/15 2. 04/05/15 TO 11/05/15 3. 09/05/15 TO 16/05/15 CAMP CHARGES: Rs.9100/- for students (11 to 22yrs.) & Rs.11250/- (Above 22yrs.)for others our fees is inclusive of travelling (by different modes), food, activity charges, service charges. REGISTRATION: For registration fill up the application form and pay the fees. Booking will be done on first come first served basis. Cancellation: Minimum: 10% Between 14 & 8 days 50% Between 30 to 15 days 25% Last 7 days No refund Cancellation charges will be applicable on total programme cost. Things to be carried: Four pairs of clothes, woolen clothes, bath towel, cap, bed sheet for train use, torch (with extra batteries), sweater/jacket, sports shoes, socks, floaters / sandals, water bag with strap, cold cream and sanitary requisites. Sleeping material & plates will be provided at the campsite. All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack which is easier to carry. Please do not bring suitcases, plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments, cell phone and other valuables. Binoculars and camera can be brought but at one’s own responsibility.

DAY 2: ARRIVAL AT CHAKKIBANK/PATHANKOT AND BOARD THE BUS FOR BIR (145 KMS. 5 hrs.), ARRIVAL CAMPSITE IN THE EVENING, ALLOTMENT OF TENTS & BRIEFING ABOUT DO’S & DONT’S, EVENING REFRESHMENT, DINNER & SWITCH OFF. DAY 3: WAKE UP, ORIENTATION MEETING, BREAKFAST, ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES WITH PACK LUNCH (ROCK CLIMBING, RAPPLING & RIVER CROSSING), EVENING GAMES, DINNER & CAMPFIRE, GO TO BED.
