LOW PRESSURE UV IS THE PROVEN GREEN SOLUTIONTwoUVtechnologiesexist:Low-pressure(LP)andMedium-pressure(MP).BothUVtechnologiesinactivatedangerous pathogens and irritating Chloramines but MP UVsystemscostalmost3xmoretooperatethanLP.Inthe past, Medium-pressure UV systems were believed to be more effective than Low-pressure due to MP’s high UV-C light output and compact package, but over the years LP UV lamp technology has improved to the point whereLPlampsarenow5xmorepowerfulthantheywere initially. Today, LP UV lamp technology continues to evolve and has significantly narrowed the gap of number oflampsrequiredbetweenMPandLPUVsystems.TheresultisthatLPUVsystemsnowcostnearly3xlesstooperate than MP UV systems.

LP and MP UV lamps operate very differently. MP UV lampsconvert11-15%oftheirinputelectricityintoUV-Clight.LPUVlampsconvert35-40%,makingthemmuchmore effective and cost-efficient at germicidal disinfec-tion and Chloramine control.
Spectra AbsorptionThe data displayed in the Spectral Absorbance chart below is universal according to the laws of science; it applies to all Low-pressure and Medium-pres-sure UV systems. The chart also identifies several materi-als associated with swimming pool water at the specific wavelengths that inactivate them.
