Traditional plastics used in packaging deliver high performance in most applications, but use depletable petroleum resources as their primary feedstock. DuPont™ Biomax® TPS Injection Molding resins can provide quality molded articles made from environmentally-friendly starch. The technology used for this unique material comes from Plantic® Technologies, Ltd. Environmental value proposition: Renewably sourced material solution Biodegradable when in contact with water Certified compostable in industrial composting conditions Water flushable Performance attributes: Good flexibility Inherently grease- and oil-resistant Sealable, printable and laser etchable Strong flavor and odor barrier Offering application versatility… General purpose for most applications High-flow for thin-wall applications High-stiffness for more durable applications 2 water-resistant grades Limited contact with water is possible with the water-resistant grades; otherwise, for all other grades, water contact should be avoided. DuPont™ Biomax® TPS is a renewably sourced offering that can be used in a variety of applications. It is especially appropriate for molded parts that will be used in mostly dry conditions prior to disposal. It offers disposal alternatives to landfills as it can biodegrade in natural environmental conditions. Biomax® TPS is a unique high-amylose starch material so it performs well as a stand-alone material option. Biomax® TPS starch feedstock is of non- genetically-modified origin. DuPont® Biomax® TPS IM resins contain 53-93% renewaly sourced content by weight.
