Biography
Dr. Rajendra K. Chaudhary is an MD and DNB in pathol-ogy and has interests in immunohematology, plateletserology and clinical transfusion medicine. He is currentlythe Professor and Head of the Department of TransfusionMedicine at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute ofMedical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow. Dr. Chaudharyis a member of the technical resource group for the Na-tional AIDS Control Organization in New Delhi and a mem-ber of the Post Graduate Board of the Medical Council ofIndia (MCI) for Transfusion Medicine, where he is regardedas the country’s MCI expert in transfusion medicine.
Dr. Chaudhary is the recipient of several awards includ-ing the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohe-matology J.R. Jolly Award – honouring individual medicalpersonnel who have established innovative ideas in their re-search work of high standards. He was bestowed Japan’sInternational Cooperation Agency (JICA) for peripheralblood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) training in Japan.
Dr. Chaudhary has established coveted fellowships fromthe International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis

(ISTH) to undergo training in thrombophilia at the GenevaUniversity Hospital in Switzerland and was acknowledgedby the Israel Government for further training in PBSCT atthe Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Dr. Chaudhary was privileged with an Australian Gov-ernment Scholarship to study platelet serology at thePrince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia. In additionto his many prestigious awards, he received a travel grantfrom the International Society of Blood Transfusion to par-ticipate in the conferences being held in Taiwan, Edin-burgh and Bangkok. Dr. Chaudhary is an accomplishedwriter with 23 international and 21 national publicationsto his credit.
