This interactive Workshop will explore the perspectives of government, proponents and land owners in navigating the highs and lows of the offset path, to optimise beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders.
This workshop will provide an interactive learning and knowledge sharing platform, including input from Umwelt’s EIA and biodiversity experts.
Why attend this workshop?• Learn how to navigate through a changing offset environment• Learn how to improve offset outcomes and delivery • Learn how to comply to relevant legal requirements
What you will take away by attending• A comprehensive framework to address biodiversity offsetting • A collaborative outline when dealing with numerous stakeholders • Fundamentals of a sustainable plan to optimise performance outcomes
Your workshop leader:
Barbara Crossley Director Umwelt Australia
Barbara has been a director of environmental consultancy Umwelt (Australia) Pty Ltd for the past 18 years and has over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting and business management.

How to assess the indirect impact of offsets on major projects Pre Conference Workshop A Tuesday, 21st July 2015, 1:00pm – 4:00pm

This interactive workshop will explore practical solutions in approaching the assessments of major projects through examples and case studies.
Why attend this workshop?• Learn how to apply flexibility into the regulatory framework• Learn how to predict the occurrence of indirect impacts • Learn how to apply scale and timing into calculations
What you will take away by attending• A practical methodology for the assessment of indirect impacts• An understanding of how residual impacts should be offset• A guidance tool for approaching future assessments
Your workshop leader:
Nathan Garvey Senior Consultant Ecologist Biosis
