Summer Study Abroad Petra, known for its rock-cut tomb facades and magnificent temples, was a major trade center for incense and spices and became an important city in the Roman empire. Petra is located in Jordan, a stable, moderate pro-western Arab state with an astounding cultural heritage. Students will have opportunities to visit other cultural sites in Jordan.
