“Class, who wants to participate in the science project competition?”

Half of the class raised their hands.

“Buster, do you want to work with me?”asked Arthur.

Buster quickly said. “Yes.”

“Francine, we have to work together,” said Muffy.

That left Brain and Binky as the third group.

“We have to do the best we can. We are going to build a spaceship,” said Muffy.

“Bring in all your projects by tomorrow.” said Mr.Ratburn.

Ring! Ring! “Class is over,”said Mr.Ratburn.

Everyone went home for the day.

It was Tuesday and Mr. Ratburn gave permission to the children to work on their project in the library.

“I’ll make sure we win,” said Binky.

“We’re going to create a perfume that smells like flowers,” said Muffy.

“We’re going to do the best volcano

model! ”said Arthur.

“You do the project,”said Binky.

At Table 1 Muffy and Francine gathered ingredients to use in their perfume.

At Table 2 Arthur and Buster thought about what they would use to make the volcano erupt.

At Table 3 Brain was coming up with ideas for the science project while Binky was playing around.

“I brought some different perfumes.” said Francine.

“I brought some rare flowers.” said Muffy.

“We should mix it in and go show

Mr. Ratburn.”said Francine. Muffy and Francine mixed their ingredients in a cup and left.

Binky quietly filled the cup with mustard and ketchup. “This is what they get.” said Binky as he left Table 1.

“I have this bubbly chemical.” said Buster.

“I have this red chemical.” said Arthur.

“First let us mix them, then we’ll put the liquid on the volcano then we’ll wait for it to erupt,”

said Arthur.

Binky went to table 2 and said, “Mr. Ratburn need’s you guys, he’s in class go.”

Buster and Arthur left

“Suckers! They actually believed me!” said Binky.

“I’ll just put some dirt and water and they’re going to be out,” Binky said as he gently poured it down the tip of the volcano model. He left Table 2.

“ You better be doing the project. I’m already doing a lot brain!” Binky said angrily.

“I’m doing it, I really am don’t get mad at me.” said Brain.

Group 1 and 2 came into class as Muffy and Francine told Mr. Ratburn about their project. “Mr. Ratburn come look at our project,” said both girls.

In came Buster and Arthur. “Mr.Ratburn, what happened?” said Arthur.

“I haven’t called you guys,” said Mr.Ratburn.

“Is Binky lying to us?” asked Buster.

“Binky, I’m almost finished. I just need to put in the batteries, and we will win.”said Brain.

“You better say I did it.”said Binky as everyone came into the classroom.

“What happened to our project? It stinks!”cried Francine.

“Look at our Volcano- it didn’t erupt and it’s filled with dirt!” said Buster.

“Who did this?”both groups asked.

“Mr Ratburn, look!”both groups shouted.

“Who would do this?” said Mr.Ratburn.

“I don’t know,”said Binky.

“I’m finished.” said Brain

“Wow!” said Mr.Ratburn

“You built a laser group 3 that’s terrific.”

said Mr.Ratburn.

“Binky how did you do the project ?” said Mr. Ratburn

“I don’t Know.” said Binky.

“Brain did you do this by yourself?”asked Mr.Ratburn

Binky is fiercely staring at Brain.

“Brain, tell the truth.” said Mr.Ratburn.

“ I did… I did it by myself and Binky is the one

who ruined the projects,”said Brain.

“Why would you do that?” asked Mr.Ratburn.

“I wanted to win,” said Binky.

“Well, then- you have one week of detention and you have to apologize to everyone,’’ said Mr.Ratburn. “Everyone else gets an A for trying.”

Ring! Ring! “Mr.Ratburn. “That is the Recess bell. Everyone can go except for Binky.”

“Yay!” the class yelled.

“This is what I get for cheating and being mean.” said Binky
