Confined Space Entry 1  Day  This  program  blends  in-­‐‑class  learning  with  a  practical  training  component.  Upon  completion,  participants  will  be  knowledgeable  about  confined  space  requirements  under  the  Occupational  Health  and  Safety  Act,  and  will  be  able  to  recognize  confined  spaces,  describe  the  major  hazards,  identify  controls,  and  perform  a  confined  space  rescue.  Program  Content  • Potential  hazards  of  confined  spaces  • How  to  recognize  a  confined  space  as  defined  by  the  

Occupational  Health  and  Safety  Act  • Employer  programs  for  confined  space  entry  • Hazards  and  their  assessment  • Plans  for  controlling  hazards  of  confined  space  activity  • Training  and  entry  permits  • Confined  space  rescue  Who  Should  Attend?  Personnel  who  are  required  to  enter  confined  spaces.

Hoisting and Rigging – Basic Safety Training 2  Days  This  course  gives  participants  a  basic  knowledge  of  the  principles  related  to  safe  hoisting  and  rigging  practices  in  the  construction  industry.  Full  attendance  is  mandatory.  The  passing  grade  is  100  per  cent  for  hand  signals,  80  per  cent  for  knots,  and  80  per  cent  for  the  performance  review.  Participants  must  bring  their  own  calculator.  Program  Content  • Hoisting  and  rigging  hazards  • Fiber  rope,  knots,  and  hitches  • Hardware,  wire  rope,  and  slings  • Rigging  tools  and  devices  • Hazard  awareness  in  crane  operations  Who  Should  Attend?  Workers  who  will  be  involved  in  hoisting  and  rigging  operations.  Participants  will  receive  a  record  of  completion.

Working  at  Heights  –  Fundamentals  of  Fall  Prevention  1  Day  BINESI'ʹS  WORKING  AT  HEIGHTS—FUNDAMENTALS  OF  FALL  PREVENTION  IS  A  ROBUST  PROGRAM  THAT  MEETS  THE  PURPOSE  OF  THE  NEW  MINISTRY  OF  LABOUR  TRAINING  STANDARD  FOR  WORKING  AT  HEIGHTS.  This  course  provides  workers  with  the  basic  fall  prevention  information  they  require  to  work  safely  in  areas  where  they  may  be  exposed  to  fall  hazards.  Participants  receive  the  most  up-­‐‑to-­‐‑date  information  with  hands-­‐‑on  instruction  from  industry  experts  and  trained  adult  educators  who  are  experienced  in  working  at  heights.  While  Working  at  Heights  is  a  great  starting  point,  site-­‐‑specific  training  is  also  required.  After  the  in-­‐‑class  session,  the  employer  must  train  workers  on  the  specific  hazards  faced  and  types  of  equipment  used  on  the  job.  Program  Content  This  course  consists  of  a  combination  of  classroom  and  hands-­‐‑on  learning  activities.  Topics  include:  • Common  fall  hazards  • Fall  protection  and  types  of  equipment  • Working  with  ladders,  scaffolds,  elevating  work  platforms,  and  

suspended  access  equipment  • Related  laws  and  regulations  Personal  Protective  Equipment  Participants  must  wear  appropriate  clothing,  as  well  as  CSA-­‐‑certified  head,  foot,  and  eye  protection.  We  ask  that  you  bring  your  own  personal  protective  equipment  (PPE)  and  that  it  is  maintained  and  in  good  working  order  as  per  the  manufacturer’s  specifications  and  regulatory  requirements.  If  you  do  not  have  the  necessary  PPE,  you  will  not  be  able  to  complete  the  program  and  will  be  asked  to  reschedule  when  you  have  the  proper  clothing  and  equipment.

Working  at  Heights  –  Fundamentals  of  Fall  Prevention  (con’t)  Learning  Evaluation  To  obtain  a  certificate  of  completion  for  this  program,  participants  must  be  present  for  the  full  program  and  meet  both  of  the  following  requirements:  1.  Complete  the  written  multiple-­‐‑choice  test  and  achieve  a  minimum  grade  of  75%  2.  Complete  a  hands-­‐‑on  demonstration  of  seven  specific  critical  tasks  and  achieve  a  score  of  100%.  BINESI  will  issue  a  certificate  of  completion  only  to  those  who  successfully  meet  the  above  evaluation  requirements.  For  participants  with  language,  literacy,  or  accommodation  needs,  alternative  evaluation  methods  to  the  written  test  may  be  used  to  verify  that  key  concepts  have  been  understood.  Please  discuss  your  needs  with  a  BINESI  customer

The  one-­‐‑month  New  Worker  Training  Program  includes  all  course  materials  and  protective  equipment.  Transportation  can  be  arranged  to  and  from  the  training  facility  from  a  pre-­‐‑determined  destination.  Attendance  is  mandatory  for  completion  of  the  program.  Failure  to  attend  all  dates  will  result  in  a  non-­‐‑completion  and  the  full  course  must  be  taken  in  order  to  receive  a  certificate  of  complete.    All  training  adheres  to  the  intent  of  the  OHSA.    The  program  can  also  be  altered  to  accommodate  your  training  needs.

 The  Underground  Hard  Rock  Miner  program  is  10  days  in  duration.  This  comprehensive  training  program  complies  with  the  standards  set  out  by  the  Ministry  of  Training,  Colleges,  and  Universities  (MTCU).  This  program  consists  of  8  training  days  and  2  days  in  a  fully  functional  mine.    In  the  practical  sessions,  all  aspects  of  each  module  are  reviewed  and  practiced.  Every  module  of  the  training  will  be  completed  to  the  trainee’s  personal  satisfaction  and  to  the  satisfaction  of  the  instructor  to  ensure  the  complete  working  knowledge  and  skill  required  for  every  module.  Completion  guarantees  the  graduate  a  lifetime  Common  Core  certificate.  Successful  graduates  of  the  program  will  be  registered  with  the  MTCU  under  Program  #770010  -­‐‑  Underground  Hard  Rock  Miner.  The  following  modules  are  included  in  the  program:  U0000  -­‐‑  Follow  Surface  and  Underground  Induction  U0001  -­‐‑  Perform  General  Inspection  U0002  -­‐‑  Scale  Loose  Rock  U0012  -­‐‑  Perform  General  Lock  Out  and  Tag
