Hear it from the source. By the time our kids get home and relay information to us, something may have gotten
lost in translation. Ask the teacher what they are learning.
Respect. Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences shows you respect your child’s teacher, value your child’s
education, and put school at the top of the priority list.
Kindergarten is just around the corner!
Our experienced teachers are prepared to teach the

children can be so exciting. It is also a
great way for you to contribute to the

you come for Parent-Teacher
Conferences.
Feb. 25-Mar. 2(Dr. Seuss’ Birthday)
Looking at and listening to picture and story books is a universal activity, enjoyed by many young children and their parents. Well before children can read for themselves they are able to learn from books. Looking at and listening to books increases children’s general knowledge, understanding about the world and promotes language acquisition. Capitalizing on children’s natural love of books, recent research indicates that both socio-pragmatic and cognitive mechanisms underlie what and how young children benefit from looking at and listening to picture and story books.

Listen 360
Family surveys
Childrens Lighthouse is dedicated to quality in care, education and customer service and
to maintain our distinction in this field we conduct ongoing surveys to newly enrolled
families, currently enrolled families and even families who have dis-enrolled. As a school
we benefit from the positive accolades as well as the constructive criticism given when
our families complete these surveys. I often share the wonderful comments made about
our teachers at staff meetings as I feel they need to know how much our children and
families love and appreciate them. I also evaluate our program structures when given
negative comments so that we can make the necessary changes to make things better.
As always, my door is open to my families and staff alike when issues arise and I put a
considerable amount of thought into how to best correct the issue.
When you receive the invitation to complete the Listen 360 Survey, please do so honestly
and remember to leave comments to help us be a better school. Our current completion
percentage is less than 50% and as the surveys go out to random families and on a
sporadic schedule, we do not know when or who will receive these surveys. Therefore, I
ask that if you see it come across your email, please take a moment and complete it so we
can raise our family participation to 100%!
Thank you,
